cpia84 I did some wrenching today on the Jeep. I went and picked up a new ignition switch (yes I already had a new one but I was testing something). Well I put the ignition switch in and nothing still. I did some reading in the pdf service manual I have. I was about to do some tracing with my multimeter and all signs point to the starter relay. I called around and nobody has one. I just went ahead and ordered one from O’Reilly’s. It will be here Wednesday.

I have decided to hold off on gauges and a custom dash for now. I am just want the Jeep on the road right now. I want to hit some small trails then head to some off-road parks.

Get Jeep running
Install drop down tailgate
Install corner armor
Go have fun.

This winter I will decide what im doing then. I have some house projects I have to do so a running, driving Jeep would be nice to have, you know a few less things to worry about.

It's a shame everything is done so cheaply these days. I see the rear end of Gladiators with their large JEEP emblems on the tailgate, and it kind of looks ridiculous with the size of those individual emblems. Always thought, "why cant they just stamp/emboss the steel like back in the day?".
Thanks!!

I agree it would be so much nicer if they would emboss/stamp more things nowadays. The quality is vehicle builds has really been lacking in some areas. I do enjoy my 90s vehicles a lot.

cpia84 I finally got to removing the Bestop High Rock Tire Rack. I took it off with the swing out tailgate. Then I mocked up CJ drop down tailgate!

Iíll work in mocking things up through out the week.

More progress to follow.

Also I got my SWAG tailgate kit in the mail. The plan is this weekend to start on the tailgate and see how far I get since it will be raining Saturday. Sunday I will probably be on the bike.

cpia84 I went ahead and ordered a MotoBilt under Tailgate armor plate. It’s easier than me trying to figure out how to make one myself.

Got a few things on order now. Maybe I’ll have some time to work on the Jeep this weekend and next week.

I am looking at either making my own armor or buying something for under the tailgate.

I am now committed to the flat back, drop tail gate look!

Oh I agree about the plasma cutter. I used one at my friend's shop a while back and I knew it was something I would want to get. So when this opportunity came up I had to snag it up.

I feel like getting rid of the spare on the back will help with climbing up hills and better weight distribution.
