AGREE with this !! The point was to share tips about keeping the older ones going....
So, on that topic, as our 1995 Cherokee 4.0 crosses 260,000 with original engine and trans, I ask;
Has anyone had serious frame rot issues like the TJ models report where frame rails rot where the leaf springs mount? I know our XJ's are unibody with frame rails being part of the body, and we have cut out floors and reinforced with heavier metal over the "rails", but so far in terms of suspension, we have only had to replace stabilizer mounts, which simply snap off when the bolts rust through. It rides much nicer after doing that, but we don't have any structural rot. Luckily ours is always parked on concrete, even if in open air barns, but this girl just keeps running, thanks to newer distributor ( around 225k) and MAP, Crank position and cam sensors. It uses very little oil between changes and leaks some from the rear main, but nothing dramatic. We're shooting for 300,000 miles on the original 4.0 and Asian Borg Warner auto trans.

cbm3 51,000 as of now (2015 WK2 EcoDiesel). No major issues. I would fully expect this car to get over 200K with regular maintenance.

Purchased new in February 2014. Engine replaced under warranty at 82k miles ... in a few seconds sudden misfires, stall, followed by tons of warning codes, ending in no oil pressure and coasted to side of the road. Dealer worked with home office, they wanted the engine back to examine it. I also purchased the lifetime warranty when I bought it!

BigTizzie Cold Case might know. It's in the vehicle info page, near the end. Like coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, trans temp then hours.

Mogul Is the hours display something that was only available pre 2014? I've not seen that before.

Mogul I have a 2000 WJ that I bought new which has 248K miles and my 2017 WK2 Trailhawk with 35K miles.

WJ still going strong, but needs some attention to the suspension and front end. Mostly original parts under there!
