Lay out the harness on a clean table and reference the original wiring diagram and make sure the correct wires are being routed either into the engine bay or under the dash. The fuse block will mount right up to the original holes. I had to take it all out when I forgot to route some wires to the engine bay. Another tip is the steering wheel column plug. All the colors are the same you just have to use the old plastic plug, it’s a simple job. I soldered and shrink wrapped every connector. Which I would recommend. It’s a lot of work but I know the connections will last years and won’t be fighting any issues. As far as the HEI goes. That was super simple. Follow the provided instructions. For my gauges I used I didn’t need an HEI signal filter. You may. Good luck

Nice job and attention to detail, with great results. What did you do with the steering column? I know if my dash ever comes out my column will get fresh paint, since it’s sun faded, chipped, scratched and looks like crap.
What kind of flying do you do?

More wiring work and routing.
This is a simple marine boot
Used these terminal blocks for all my dash lighting
PLugging up holes with plastic plugs
New HEI installed
Knockoff 2100 carb installed (works wonderfully)
This is where the project starts to come together. Finish routing wires to make it look OEM
Dash bolted in
Steering wheel, shifter boots, dash pad installed
Special shift knob. From my dads company
Installing a winch plate
Here is a glamour shot of the newly refreshed engine bay. New wiring harness, plugs, plug wires, HEI, battery tray, windshield washer tank, carb. (the red winch cable has black slkeeving over it, just not in this picture)
Getting new tires this weekend.

Can you provide a link to the wiring harness you used? I have a CRT HEI in my 75í CJ5 and I would really like to replace my wiring at some point. The painless harnesses are too expensive for me, but for $200 seems well worth it to get rid of all my electrical demons once and for all.
Love the wrap on the dash. Really cool idea and looks awesome.

I am thinking of a new wiring harness for bagusjeep, it is a rat nest of brown wires.
How many hours do you think you have in the mounting of instruments and wiring the harness in?
Have you needed all 22 circuits or would a 12 circuit version have done? (the 12 version would slip in under the customs barrier here)

Big update. A lot of work has been up until today.
Got the panel primed
All mounting holes drilled
Vinyl Wrap going on!
Gauges and switches in
Had to add a marine ignition switch. Its a long story why im using this. My original key cog gear keeps stripping, so i decided against using the original.
Now that the dash is done. I cant install a pretty dash in a ugly interior. So Raptor Liner time! Theres a ton of prep work I had to do in order for good adhesion.
Now that the raptor liner is in. I can start installing the new wiring harness. I started this process last night.. All i can say is take your time....
Needed spacers so the fuse block will sit away from the firewall a little bit.

Mounted. Original holes even lined up.
This is the time consuming part. Verifying the right wires are going to the right plug. I had to change the stock jeep column to plug to the one provided in the kit. Luckily all of the wiring is the same color!
Steering column harness and brake switch wiring. Just trying to make it look OEM
And this is where I ended today. Got the dash propped up so I can wire everything up. I am soldering and heat shrinking all connections.

Don't forget to test fit it into the jeep to make sure all the parts clear the steering wheel mount and heating duct work.
These are the areas that give the most problems.
