I thought so too.
The major part of the refresh will be inside the tube that runs from right to left.
Figure get all the loose stuff off. Might play with my sandblaster in there.
Either some Eastwood Internal Frame Coating or just pour some POR 15 in there and
let it run down inside maybe.
I'll figure something out.

Ralph77 Thursday decided to go poking around one of the boneyards I go to.
Have a list of stuff I told people here on the forum I would keep an eye out for.
Picked up a couple things for them.
Found a 2WD '01 with a hitch on it. Looked like a Mopar one. Asked what they wanted for it and they said $40.
Ran the VIN when I got home and it did come with the towing package.
So went and got it today.

The Mopar ones I usually see say Mopar on a label. But they also have that little box for the connector from the trailer. I notice aftermarket ones don't usually.
The relay and whatnot for the harness is in that little sponge box. It was wired and the wires were run very well making me think it is factory.
Except for one thing.
See those 2 little blue pieces on either side?
Those are those wire splicing things. Driver's side was spliced into a wire in the tail light harness. Which I decided to grab.
Passenger side one was spliced into a main harness just before it connects to that tail light harness. Tail light harness was gone on that side other wise would have grabbed that too.
Seems like a cheesy way to do something from the factory.
Then there is this that says Mopar.

Shot of the specs.

Does anybody think the dealer installed these when ordered by the customer?
It would explain that one cheesy wire.

So thinking I did OK. The hitch appears to be in pretty good shape. Could use a bit of a refresh.
Don't know if I am going to use it or not. Not sure if it will play nice with my factory gas tank skid and my two factory rear tow hooks.
But figured for $40 I should grab it.

From there it went down the street for a front end alignment, thus recentering the steering wheel and I pray, eliminating the horrifying death wobble.
I hate to break it to you, but an alignment probably won't fix your death wobble. A new steering stabilizer/dampener probably would, but that's just a bandaid on the problem. There's probably something loose in your front end. You need to be underneath your jeep looking at all of your steering linkages and your trackbar while somebody is turning the steering wheel back and forth in short, jerky movements. Look for excessive movement in any/all of the joints. The first place I'd look would be your track bar. It may be worn out, but sometimes that bolt that holds it to the bracket on the axle side comes loose. If so, I've heard it can break if you over torque it, though I've not broken one myself. Other than that, look at all of your tie rod ends. Also, make sure all the bolts on the arms on your four link suspension are tight. Had one break once. It didn't lead to death wobble, but the handling sure sucked. You may be replacing some front end stuff here, but if you're lucky, you'll just be tightening your track bar.

If everything is tight in your front end, you should be able to run without a steering stabilizer.
It has new track bar, new steering stabilizer, and new shocks and springs. It didn’t have this issue prior to lifting so the alignment was was a given since I needed to recenter steering wheel anyway.

Started to replace all bushings

Today I started the rebuild of my front end on my 2 WD Cherokee 1999
It might be a 3 day job if the rain allows some outside work.

UKXJ So the liftgate didn't arrive, probably just as well, because the deal with my friendly neighbourhood mobile mechanic (who doesn't work Fridays) was call him when it arrived - AND the old one was ready to come off; well it isn't, all for one 10mm nut: the one that holds the handle/lock on, the stud just turns in the casting - but won't come out. Only hope now is chef's blow torch & a 10mm ratchetting wrench BUT they're 200-odd miles away, so it won't be this weekend !

RedJeepster1 Got a visit from @Luke95 tonight. First time seeing the Jeep since it was on 35ís. Itís grown a little bit since then. Drives better than I expected. I had it up 60 on the back roads no problem. Really makes me miss having a manual transmission Jeep. My stick shift TDI just doesnít put the same smile on my face.

Check your track bar and both mounts. Drove my jeep 115 miles round trip to go hang with Jeremy. It happily did 80 the whole way home and got 12 mpg doing it

UKXJ Bought a liftgate "oop North" has a few scratches I'm told but it's the right colour (well it's red!) & complete apart from the 3rd brake light & rear wiper; all the others I'd seen advertised were "bare" - no good to me as the principal reason for changing it is the window's in a 1,000 fragments held together by the tint film.

Should arrive tomorrow, so that should be fun

Oh, & booked it for exhaust hangers to be welded up & inspection on Saturday week.

UKXJ Believe me I would really liked to have shared this on Saturday evening (but was having issues with the website - seems like it doesn't like my browser of choice; weird!) but finally fixed the ABS - well the light goes out now (& it's only taken 7 months so, at least it should get thru' inspection now)

Ralph77 So IMO what Jeep should have done in the first place.
One homemade 2 tone Camel Limited Door Panel.

You really can't tell from the shot but it is not exactly the same color as my regular one.
Limited I painted on the left.

Also it will never shine quite lock the regular one.
But that is OK with me.
Maybe I should have hit it with some clearcoat.
One step closer to my Limited Clone interior. LOL.

Get the other rear one on today.
Still have to paint the fronts too.

kluttsy01 Finally changed the oil thats been in there for the better half of 8 months and 7k plus miles, broke the hood release cable in the process [emoji854] also i guess my ac drain is clogged up as well cause I'm getting a steady drip on the pass side floorboard [emoji2357]
Took my injectors out the other day and cleaned them out with some carb cleaner rigged up to connect to the injector (attached photo) while cycling them with a batt found 2 or 3 that was leaking but they went back to normal after the cleaning.
