kg6mov CCD bus is used for the same thing as canbus, and could be considered a predecessor to canbus.

It is not in any way compatible with canbus though.

Kev96ZJ Old thread I know but is the CCD bus on a 96 equivalent to the CAN-bus rx and tx the new aftermarket stereos want?

Thank you

Hey thank you very much. I just could not find any info telling me what it was... I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Take care

kg6mov It's the CCD bus so the radio can communicate with the VIC and the BCM. It's how the VIC gets its time from the radio and how the radio gets the steering wheel control signals from the BCM (if equipped). Not used in aftermarket installs, just tuck it back there and ignore it.
