|mchkc240||You probably want to install a solid roof rack system instead of using roof rails + cross bars. The stock roof rails are not that strong, so they are not good for installing tents on top. You don't want the rails to twist or bend, which will most likely damage the roof.|

|ajk2000||I second the question.. Ive seen cross bars with rating of 150lbs. Not sure if you get 300lbs when using 2 or 150 is max roof weight|

2017 Jeep Compass roof carrying capacity?
I just got a new 2017 Jeep Compass Trailhawk.
I'm trying to figure out the maximum load capacity of the flush roof racks it came with.
Ultimately, I'd like to mount the Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized tent which is ~180lbs.
The owners manual says "The load carried on the roof, when equipped with a luggage rack, must not exceed 150 lbs (68kg), and it should be uniformly distributed."
Are the flush roof racks considered as luggage racks?
I also wanted to get these crossbars and wanted to get anyone's opinion on these:
