Yup, I spotted you over there lurking in the guide line...

daddyjeep87 Hey.... I at least saw you drive by. This event kept me hopping this year. We were short on volunteers so I had very little down time.

Shadownwpa Yesterday... took it through the trails at Bantam. The 35s worked well. Overheated it once because the e-fan sensor/ clip connection had some slop and it wasn't making contact. Once that was sorted out and the coolant was replaced we continued on to run the last 2 blue trails.

Shadownwpa Last night... fixed the winch control connector. I'd not been paying attention last time I used to and the remote cord was stuck under the front tire as it rolled forward and pulled apart the plug from the selenoid port. Some time in the last few years Rugged Ridge discontinued my model of winch as well as the parts for it, so I made a 4-flat trailer connector work.

I also got around to looking at what was wrong with the speedometer. The "mechanic" tent that Diehl had at Bantam last time I was there wasn't very mechanical. They told me flat out that it didn't have the blue spiral gear on the output shaft that drives the speedometer cable gear... well it did. It was in good shape too. As it turns out my prior attempts to clock the speedometer cable gear to the output gear were just wrong since I wasn't doing it right. It's right now, it works.. and is actually accurate.
Checking things off the list.

Shadownwpa Today I ordered a new speedometer output screw gear and the sensor gear to go with it since it's on 35s now instead of 33s. Also ordered some wipers since that's what it takes to get free next day shipping from Orielly's. My new efan temperature sensor/switch is supposed to arrive today from rockauto and the parts/wiring to get it installed arrived from Que last week. It looks like I'll have some work to do when I get a few minutes. I had Dad fire up the bridgeport to drill and tap the coolant line tee for the temp switch this weekend, way better job than I'd have done myself.

That was apparently all they had left since all the reservations people didn't specifically call to cancel and refund from last year automatically rolled over to this one. I won't be surprised if there's some empty sites.

67.6. Use of antique and classic registration plates.
No person may operate a vehicle with antique or classic registration plates for commercial purposes or for general daily transportation. Permitted use is limited to participation in club activities, exhibits, tours, parades and similar uses, and for occasional transportation. Occasional transportation means no more than 1 day a week.

I'm not gonna agree to only drive it one day a week. I'd probably move to a non-inspection state first.
It is a one time registration.... forever. I doubt the state will send out auditors the check your mileage. I talked to a former PSP DOT officer buddy of mine and he didn't even know the regulations for antiques and said the rest of them don't either. He said just run it.

YJ94SBC I agree, the restrictions for antique registrations are too strict, although I wonder how much they are actually enforced....

I kept my registration current the entire time I’ve been building this thing, I think I have 8/9 unused plate registration stickers lol. But it has kept me from having to deal with any mandatory inspections! I don’t see myself every changing the registration, even if I move out of state, I’ll just register it at a friend or family members house, so I don’t have to worry about smogging it in other states. I have a separate “classic car” type insurance policy for it, and the agent is my buddy, so I should be good!
