IRO 3" Lift Adjustable Track Bar Hitting

Anyone ever have before. My IRO adjustable track bar is hitting the top of my differential pumpkin. It scrapes down the face of it whenever hitting a bump or dip at speed. I've contacted IRO for their take but a quick search I haven't found anyone else with this issue.

Positive. Adjustment side up.

Can't show contact as again it only happens when on the street hitting a dip but here's a pic showing the contact points making it pretty obvious it's hitting.

It's not during flexing either. I've never discoed the front sway bar. It's while on the street and hitting dips in the road at speed.

lowers are new oem replacement

upper are IRO at their shortest setting closest I could get to stock with new moog upper bushings pressed into the axle. I got them as adjustable in the event I wanted to adjust caster but found it unnecessary as it turns drives and handles just fine (minus the clunk).

Problem existed since lifting (before replacing the control arms) and I assumed it was worn control arms which is the only reason I replaced them. The noise continued and I just got time over the holiday break to investigate further and found this (the obvious issue).

Herd back from IRO yet?? I just installed my JKS adjustable track bar, and theres has a bend to go around the pumpkin. Not sure if that helps, but my 2 cents. I think they sent you the wrong track bar.
Yeah I've seen that. JKS has that however IRO is straight and requires a 3" lift to use it to clear the diff. Obviously at 3" mine still isn't clear enough.

I emailed the pics to iro and put in a call to follow up since that seemed easier but no word back yet as to a fix.

I have an '00 WJ with 3" of lift in front also. I also have the IRO adjustable track bar which I properly installed. Mine doesn't hit my differential at all, but I also have stock UCAs and LCAs. I think your upper adjustables may have it forward a bit. I was surprised to see that you went with adjustable UCAs, but not LCAs. My castor is about 4.5, I don't have DW anymore, but was told that adjustable LCAs would be the only way to get her back to Jeep's recommended 6-6.5.......woops:OffTopic:

Yes IRO adjustable UCAs ARE longer than OEM uppers. So when paired with stock LCAs not only are they useless as a means of adjusting caster but they cause a small loss of caster. However if his actually will close down to 15" the length difference would not be enough to cause what looks like an inch or so of interference.

One thing for sure is this has happened before as far back as 2007 and others here have posted about the same thing. I remember a thread here many months back about the topic of IRO sway bars and small lifts. The puzzling thing is this clearance problem does not happen every time. So possibly the bend over the pumpkin is not inconsistant on every bar?

The noise occurred with stock arms. I replaced with upper adjustable and lower oem while chasing the noise. Only after it continued with the new arms did I track it down to the track bar hitting the pumpkin.

Update

I spoke with a Josh yesterday who asked me to take some specific pics as well as get additional measurements.

I did so and emailed (4 times) them as well as called several times (6 per my call log) to follow up. Every call has been answered by a Brent and someone else with the response Josh is in the back in shipping. Still have yet to receive a single call back or email to my several from Josh since 11:30 yesterday.

Not sure what the problem here is. I have nearly 1200 bucks worth of IRO products on my rig and invested several hundred more chasing a problem (replacing control arms) that was in fact caused by their control arm hitting.

As today is NYE and then the weekend I assume I won't hear back now at this point until Monday... Kind of upsetting.

*Dead thread RESURRECTO!!!*

I'd also like to know if it was fixed. After 3 years with this lift I finally found the source of my noise. You guessed it, my IRO trackbar is hitting my Dana 30 pumpkin under heavy suspension compression. I was changing my oil when I noticed a bare steel spot on my track bar.

In my case, I have 3'' IRO springs with their front long arm 3-link kit.

I think if I had more lift it wouldn't be a problem, but I like the height at 3''. The JKS track bar looks like it has a more severe bend in it, so I'm thinking that might be a solution.

Would a longer bump stop work? I ask because I have the same setup with no problems though I haven't flexed it much yet.

Probably. The only time it hits is when I take a speed bump with a little too much gusto. I'll probably just leave it alone as it's become a 99% on road daily since I moved back to the East Coast.
