TexasTJ Well that didn't take long.

I test drove a 2018 JKUR and a 2018 JLU Sport S back to back. The JL seemed like such a huge upgrade from the JKs. I ended up grabbing a pretty well loaded 2018 JLU Sport S with a whole bunch of options. I'll create a new build thread for this Jeep once I figure out what I want to do with it.

dangerz So they sent my old Jeep to auction. I found a couple others that I kinda like, but nothing that stands out.

Found this Rubi. Not a bad deal for 27k, but who knows what's been done to it. I actually think I might want a Sahara more than a Rubi. I don't wheel enough to justify the extra cost and hassle of owning a Rubi.

Anyway, I'm not in a rush. I'll wait for a good deal to come along.

Yeah, there are definitely a ton out there. Each day I see more added. Seems like a lot of people are trading up to the 2018. I'm in no hurry at all. I love my wrx, so I'll wait until a good deal comes along for a Sahara or Rubicon. This was more for my wife. She loved that Jeep and I had a lot of fun building it.

TexasTJ Well unless you're just stuck on the idea of getting your old Jeep back, there are plenty others out there ready for the bargaining. Which dealer has it?
03-12-2018 11:19 PM
dangerz Yeah I tried, but the dealer wasn't budging much on price and I felt like they were just asking for way too much.

I'll keep an eye on it and see where it goes. I'm always surprised by how much used Jeeps go for.

TexasTJ As much as I love Subies, I say get the Jeep back. I've done the go fast thing, and while fun, it has more restrictions (where you can go fast) and the Jeep community is much larger.

dangerz So an opportunity has popped up where I can buy my Jeep back. I miss it and my wife wants me to go for it. I love my little Subie. It's been one of the best cars I've ever owned.. I need a bigger garage.

TexasTJ Ah bummer. I love Subies though!

dangerz Goodbye to my Jeep. It was a blast to own, but it's not as much fun when I can't get it out on the trails. I was also getting real tired of the gas mileage, so I decided to trade it in last weekend.

I picked up a 2016 Subaru WRX. Still a very fun car, but more comfy for my daughter and much better on gas. I'll get another Jeep in a few years when my daughter is old enough to go wheeling. I'll probably stick to the TJ (or maybe even get back into an LJ) since they're cheaper and it won't make me as nervous wheeling

Thanks everyone for the advice, it's been fun.

Jason, aka: Jeepin.com Yes, actual fog lights that get used as fog lights should always be mounted as low as possible.

Flood/Fog lights always go down low.
As for the glare on the hood,it sucks unless you have a darkened hood just for that purpose.

That's just my opinion though. I don't know what the official answer is.
LOL, I've got mine exactly the opposite - floods on the windshield, spot on the bumper. That's really just because of how I happened to buy the lights, I don't think there's an "official answer". Spots on the windshield might reduce the chance for glare off the hood though, but I don't really get much glare with my floods.

wcbond4 I think you vN put whatever you want. Buy some won't do much other than look cool. I think the most effective would be long range spots. I've got 100watt driving lights. They're more like a flooded spot.. If that makes any sense. No glare off my hood though.
