The oil pressure switch supplies power to the manifold heater relay. A coolant temp switch controls that power to the manifold heater.
The orange wire at the relay senses when the manifold heater has power, and sends that input to the Idle Speed Controller, which activates the Sol-Vac on the carb.
Removing the Idle Speed Controller won't disable the manifold heater.

You could be right, I was hesitant to be specific as I do not have any of this stuff left operational on my early eighties jeeps.
In which case is it the electric choke switch that controls the heater relay and swapping to a carb without this feature or one where it is not wired will disable the heater?

I'm pretty sure the idle speed controller only takes input signals from the manifold heater relay. When the heater is on, the speed controller bumps the idle speed.
I don't think removing the Idle Speed Controller will disable the manifold heater.
Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

Doesn't the orange wire on that Idle Speed Switch also feed the manifold heater through the manifold heater relay?
As far as I know the thermoswitch closes when cold and the idle speed switch, when it senses an idle, then sends current to the manifold heater relay. The heater helps atomise fuel at idle on a cold manifold, as far as I can tell.
If you take this and the manifold heater and relay out you can the take out the thermoswitch. In any case the carburettor solenoid can be deleted without effecting the Idle Speed Switch.
Do you need the heater? Do you live in a hot part of Texas? Are you willing to have a rougher cold idle and/or increased emissions at that time? I often find that minor running issues are nothing compared to the major issues on a 30 year old vehicle and leave them all off, just one more thing to break

Yes, if you aren't running the factory BBD carb, you can remove the Idle Speed Controller.

Yep, it's the idle speed controller.
It controls a electric vacuum switching solenoid, which in turn engages the Sol-Vac throttle positioner on a non-feedback Carter BBD.
The idle speed controller was AMCs first attempts at controlling fuel electronically. It only shows up in '81 and early '82 models. Later models went to the CEC System, which used a microprocessor (aka: "computer") to control fuel and timing.

The box in front of the starter solinod
There's this little box right in front of the starter solinod there is a bulk of wires that are connected to anyone done any Research on this random box. I know it isn't my ignition module because I ripped the stupid thing out already
