seriously, one of these threads needs to stay alive in the XJ/MJ section and what better time to get a real one going then now with the creation of the XJ/MJ GD. now, lets keep this going.

for me, all i did today was take pictures of my newly cut front bumper.

Yeah, the location hold and signing a note are your only options but the driver here is a dick and refuses to leave anything without a signature. Sorry I actually work for a living, just leave my **** like every other delivery service.
Yeah I've had the same problem with FedEx. I hate them more than both UPS and the USPS, which says a lot because I really hate the USPS.

And , agreed . Fed Ex just plain sucks for the private sector . I've heard that they 'prefer' business delivery , but that may be gossip .
I've heard the same. They've been a pain in the *** everywhere I've ever lived. Only issue I've ever had with UPS is a single delivery coming a day late and that was this week.

I like that Boostwerks Engineering shift linkage . It seems like a worthwhile upgrade. Does anyone have an actual experience with it? I see at the very bottom of the page it says if your XJ is lifted, it requires some extra hardware for an additional 8 bucks and I'm curious what the extra hardware consists of.
It looks pretty beefy. Way better then the price I paid for my fst

When my DIY jrc bumper came in, it was delivered to my dad's house. My mom caught the fed ex driver who had used a hand truck a hand truck to dump the split open, clearly dropped box by the side of the garage. He was literally running back to his truck to bolt. Some pieces were bent, but thankfully nothing was missing and bends were in the weakened bend sections. But this was clearly not the way to handle how the package arrived. I let jrc know what they had done. Jrc was very helpful, fed ex was not.....

Looks like a clean start!
Yeah, it's pretty clean all around and bone stock! Whoever had it before took good care of it. Other than the non-stock seats the interior is ridiculously clean with no holes, tears, rips, cracks, nothing. Almost like it just came from the factory. It's got a front end shake around 55 that I'm going to look at today but it shifts fine and TC feels brand new when I shift it, I'm not even sure they ever used it before.

Eventually I'd like to put some 31's on it and build some bumpers, etc. I have an '84 (build thread in sig) built for the rocks (it currently needs to be rebuilt) so this one is going to be a very mild DD and expedition style.

Whats that red switch by your left knee for?
Don't flick that switch.
I flipped that switch a thousand times before I figured it out - the stereo! Whoever wired it up apparently didn't understand what the yellow wire was for, constant 12V for memory, so they used that switch. I'll be putting in a new stereo and when I do I will wire it correctly and get rid of that switch. That is the only hole, crack, etc. in the dash

Passenger ejection seat.
I wish :D

Replaced the plugs and wires. The PO had the engine rebuilt about 10k miles before I bought it and I've only put about 5k on it, but when i was troubleshooting a no-start condition last month I pulled the #2 plug to check for spark and it looked like this:

that's about a .070 gap instead of the .035 it's supposed to be. So I figured that like so many other things the folks that worked on this jeep before me did, they used the old plugs and wires when they rebuilt the engine. So I went and bought new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Interestingly, the #4 was at about .050 but the other four plugs were at .035 and looked fairly new. The cap and rotor practically were new so I just kept the old ones.
