505Performance has one of the worst reputations that I've seen. There's way too many bad stories for me to ever give them any money...

Xpress Might as well toss in a fire breathing dragster engine if you're going to go through all that effort.

This is a great option, IMO.

My buddy has a 4.7 in his TJ and that thing is a Beast! He's got loads of low end, revs nicely and just flat out hauls.

IF/when my 4.2 ever goes south, I'm using the internals to build a stroker...no question.

The forum censored a word in the link - replace the *** with the correct word and the article loads.

You need to do a lot of research. Find some build threads that include the motors that you are considering and give them a read. Then you will see how much is actually involved.

This is a good read too http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...es_general.htm

First, some questions:

What do you want to do with your Jeep?
Why do you need the extra power?
What axles do you have?
What transmission do you have now and want in the future?
What's your budget for the swap?

Going to V8 power has many costs in other areas (axles, transmissions, wiring, adapters, etc).

Dropping in a refreshed 4.0L is the most cost-effective path (hence the budget question). Or possibly a stroker 4.7L, if that would make sense for you.
