wingless When I needed to remove my not-empty tank, I used a gravity siphon to drain into gasoline jugs. I found that removal of the fuel filler hose made the process easier to properly insert the siphon.

It looks like the tank must be dropped for the strap swap, instead of the hitch removed. It looks like the tank obstructs instead of the hitch.

I certainly hope that’s not the case

The skid plate makes the straps redundant, holding the tank higher than the straps, as-shown in the image.

Mine looks completely different, I guess mine must be some weird European / Danish market one..

And yeah I have a piece of wood supporting my tank while I wait for my bolts to arrive, they should be here tomorrow.

But yeah it looks like it has to be removed to get the straps in and out as they need to be turned 90 degrees to be mounted

GChief Yesterday I finally did my intake plenum gasket with a new 1/4" aluminum plate to replace the sheet metal one. Tomorrow new front receiver and wire the front and rear quick disconnects for a winch.

wingless Note that in my case the OEM hitch was different than the recall hitch, so that would affect leaving the hitch in-place during strap removal / replacement.

How did you get the passenger side one off?

nhcd538 Finally installed four new Infinity REF-6522EX shallow mount speakers in the doors. Nice quality speakers, fit was nice but I did have to use self-tappers because the holes didn't align. Not a big deal at all. Really nice upgrade.

BRBauer2 Bought the below belt for the wife's 4.0 and I've maxed out the adjustable pulley but it still seems a smidge loose.

I replaced both idlers (adjustable and stationary) a month ago and they matched the ones that came off.

Is there any pulley that's slightly oversized that will take up some slack?

hilljacknm Replaced all four front marker lights. Thought there may have been a bad fuse because all four were not working. All fuses were good. Sure enough, all four marker lights were bad.

IMMORTEN While I am waiting for the mounting hardware to arrive from Jeep, I decided to give these a nice thick coat of Hammerite. Especially since they came with a very thin layer of spray paint out of the box.

What did you do to your ZJ today?

My “Fixing the fuel tank” straps arrived today.

I am always kind of skeptical about parts from eBay, and how well they fit. But this brand holds no secrets about them being for a Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ...so hopefully that means they fit.

Now I’m just waiting for the mounting hardware to arrive from Jeep.....

....and for a clear day, to work on my Jeep....which I have a greater chance of winning the lottery than finding in this country [emoji53]
