biffgnar Less than two weeks till race day! Leave for the lake bed a week from tomorrow! Confirmed that I will be camped with Team Dynomax on the NW corner of the short course. Stop by and introduce yourself. Will be a great week.

222Doc living in the west/south west has its advantages. I can be there in 4 hours or less in my Jeep. I think we have Parker guy there running his, not sure. He did try last year. But it is nice being close enough to Cali trails BUT not have to live there no offense, i lived there almost 30 years. Summer wheeling is in Cali for us Azers. I can be in the fresno mountains by dinky area in less than 9 con is like 12 hours.

Logistically its got to be a lot of prep to have to go that far to run that competition. Best of Luck. The Jeep looks tight. I bet the weather will be a nice change.

ChrisHager I didn't even pay attention to your location when I posted that. And here I thought I was a long ways out!

Google Maps says 2753 miles for me but I'm getting there (third time to JV, second time for KOH). Seriously though, while it can be a commitment to get out there if you love offroading it is an amazing experience. Beautiful location, great racing, good people, etc.

Who's going to King of the Hammers?

Race day coming up soon! Hammertown setup actually starts this Wednesday! I'll be there from the 1st to 8th and will be driving #4701, the Dynomax sponsored car, in the Spec Class of the Every Man Challenge on Thursday the 6th. I'm up against some good competition in the spec class - Shannon Campbell (only two time King), Jessi Combs (you may remember her from Extreme 4x4), Jim Marsden (Team Gigglepin (check out their winches) from the UK), Larry Nickell (editor of Crawl magazine who posts here on JF occassionally) and few others. If you are there on race day, I can use some fans. In particular at the tougher rock trail sections. If you are there early in the week stop by the Team Dynomax camp (I believe we will be on the short course on the opposite side from the main part of Hammertown) and say hello. Ask for Eric Bothwell. I'll try to keep a chest of cold beverages full that everyone is welcome to and you can get a hands on look at the race car.
