Bought my 06 WK in 2009. I have VERY few surviving pics of this thing stock i mean bare bones stock. After a couple hours of owning it. I had the same Jeep dealership install a sunroof in it (for free).. (they were nice people)... Majority of the things I did for the first year were all interior

After this picture I took the Jeep to get an after-market sunroof installed.

When I returned I got the Yakima bike racks and cross bars, and wind deflector installed up top

Then a couple weeks later I had the Nav system installed. Which allows me to integrate my IPOD with the Nav system, it has some basic voice command system, and bluetooth capability. It's also got Sirius radio membership (which I still think is a waste of my 12 bucks every month). And i installed a back up camera on it as well which is also hooked up with the NAV.

(I'll get placement of IPOD later)

Slapped on the wind deflectors on the driver and passenger side windows, and tossed in some slush mats, and threw the carpet ones in the cargo area... Just some easy cosmetic stuff. I also put in after-market headlights that I am still thinking of putting back in the OEM.

Then me and a good friend of mine decided it would be cool to slap on some nerfbars, which it did look good, and some splash guards. I have some pics. But I have removed them both now.

You can fit TJ Rubi MOAB wheels on that. All you need is hub centric rings (which I have since I sold my rims to Just Jeeps out of Austin, TX). I'd sell them to you for super fracken cheap if you get those rims. Lemme know brosef. I am all in the know of Patriot stuff. There's a forum for them too that I'm on that's full of great information and people. It's more useful than the MK section on here. I have the same username over there.

Ya I know what you are saying AJ. It want one, but it doesn't make sense for me right now. I own my car (ever since I bought it) and it only has just over 100k on it. It has been problem free and is very cheap to run, so I just can't justify selling it and making payments on a DD vehicle that would get 10mpg less. Also I would have a hard time keeping it stock :D With a small lift and some 32s they look so much better! And like Kenny mentioned, the TJ Moabs look awesome on them.

#415 ·
You couldn't ever fit 32s on there. With spacers, the RRO lift, and right tire size you could only fit a 30"er max. Kinda sh*tty but oh well.

lol - I will figure it out... I will get bigger tires on it.. but not much bigger. I appreciate how it drives as a stock vehicle so much that I probably won't do anything other than a rack with some lights and recovery points. I took a look at the jeep TJ rubi wheels, and I think I'd like that approach on the MK... that's not bad...

Do it man, it looks great. Honestly I'd probably just send the hub centric rings to you if you bought the TJ Rubis cause they're expensive as balls to have custom made and I got mine from Discount Tire for free after chatting with a DT rep on another forum. Anyway but yea lemme know if you get those wheels and I'll send the rings to you.

How did the 285 Duratracs "fit" on OME HD? I know there is room, but did they rub and if so how much? I know you added MLLs before you moved up, but it seemed like that was more for the rake. Thanks.
Sorry fir the late reply. I never owned OME HD's, just the MD. I don't know anyone wielding 285's on an intrinsic MD set up. On-road you'd be ok, but I've stuffed the hell out if this wheel well Offroad, so I'd caution you on that.

Been a while since I've had a chance to work on the WK, that lol Patriot has been keeping me busy. Finally talked myself into ordering the 4XGuard rear sliders last week and installed them this week. They freed up the hitch receiver is a nice feeling. The product is very rugged and pretty heavy. Of course, the D-rings are also installed. Tossed in a couple pics for review. Lemme know your opinions!

AJ - I have always liked your Jeep and you've yet to disappoint with any of your mods. :)

I think the rear guard and sliders would be more beneficial than the front guard. I've scraped my backside a few times here and there but never felt the front guard would help me.

What's your take?

Oh and btw - had a chance to make it out to SMORR?
Not far from FtLwd. Just sayin...........

#427 ·
Thanks man, it takes a lot for me to pull the trigger in a mod lol. I haven't had a chance to get out there to SMORR yet. Really have been to o busy. The front guard is still useful. You may not not have hit anything yet, but all it takes is one good smack lol. Those front end components need more protection than the rear. There is nothing really significant in the rear other than the fact that it is the rear and is more susceptible to damage from departure angles.

Well it's been a great run. Some of you already know... But I sold the grand a couple days ago. It was a great Jeep but having three vehicles it was just time to let it go. It was a great vehicle and surpassed my expectations and I'm going to miss all of you. I do still have the patriot but have no plans to do anything serious with it so I will not be on JF much anymore. Many if you I've come to know on a personal level and it's been great... So I'm sure we'll still hang out. Good luck to you all, Merry Christmas, and happy Jeepings!
