homeboy1991 Alignment is set to ~ 1/8 and caster is set to around 5 or 6 can't remember which one it was set at. It's just annoying for the steering wheel to give me that much feedback from bumps and what not. Maybe it's just me, but the steering wheel shouldn't move so much when one tire dips into a hole or goes up.

Maybe you alignment is off? Check your toe-in. Should be in by ~1/8th.

homeboy1991 I have the currie steering, and also did the dry steering test and couldn't see any movement int the tre's. The rubbing is just on the front fenders really. I could probably get away with trimming them, but was just trying to avoid that.

Steering issue could be worn out tie rod ends or steering stabilizer. Doesn't sound like death wobble at all.

As for the rubbing, where is it actually rubbing?

homeboy1991 Hey everybody haven't updated this thread in a long time. I have a few questions. I'm not sure if it's because of the 35's or maybe something out of alignment, but when driving my jeep and I hit a bump I get feedback to the steering wheel. It's not death wobble, but something probably similar. Should this be happening or I shouldn't get this feedback? I also installed some Currie front bumpstops and with the 35's I am still rubbing in the front of the jeep. is there anyway to add to the bumpstops?

homeboy1991 Okay it's time for an update! Got some 35's put on last night! Driving great so far just need to get the tires balanced and they will be good to go! Been trying to trac down a problem with one of my front control arms, I think the driver side upper joint is either toast or needs a rebuild... So I guess I'll break down and order a new bushing and the Johnny joint tool. Next things to do to the Jeep are to finally install my Curries front bumpstops and RE rear bump stops I've had for a year sitting in my garage.. I don't think the 35's will be as nice to my fenders as my 33's were.



Also I got a 1987 Comanche a few months back been fiddling with it for a wile finally got it on the road and a week later a guy runs into the side of my truck. So I'm waiting on the insurance company to see how much the damage is and if they will total my poor truck.. So now the pics!!

homeboy1991 Also question are the holes for the zj swaybar end links a different size than a tj's? My Anti-rock sway bar will not fit in the holes. So I think I may have to drill the holes out to fit the sway bar.

homeboy1991 Okay! So updates! I got the new axle took it to East Coast Gear Supply, got them to swap my gears to the new to me housing, install new ball joints, and also weld on the currie upper jj's to the housing! I also got new timken unit bearings to replace my old ones and will use those as spares if need be.
While installing the unit bearings I think I grabbed one of the bolts off of the new axle and they were somewhat rusty. I cleaned all the bolts with a wire wheel before installing them and it snapped off in the assembly. I have a buddy that owns a shop and he drilled it out and tapped it for me.
Placed and order with Blaine to get the savvy black magic brake pad and centric rotors, they should be hear today and the brakes will go on! Then just some adjustments with the front suspension and she will be back to normal hopefully! And some pictures!

homeboy1991 Thanks man! I've been looking around. I think I'm gonna get an axle of of a junk yard, and have all my internals swapped over. I know a guy said he can do it for around 200$. Or either I'll be going up to East Coast Gear Supply to get them to swap my stuff over.

afusco1222 If you are willing to drive 4 hours to Annapolis, MD, I would give you a free LP Dana 30. Ball joints have 30,000 miles on them, there are no ears on the axle and it's geared to 3.73. I've been trying to get rid of it seeing that its just taking up space in the garage. The only bad thing about it is that I re-drilled the track bar hole but if you mount your currie track-bar in the stock location, the structural integrity should not be compromised. PM me if you want more detailes.

homeboy1991 I would be extremely lucky to come across a HPD30 with 4.56's haha, But I've been looking all around Craigslist near me. I'm am hoping to get the axle out this weekend and check everything else out to see what all needs replacing.
