BagusJeep What symptoms do you have?

there is a known problem with the springs holding up the locking knob, they fall on their own. Locks you out.

The other known problem is old age and gunge, the mechanisms stick as they are gummed up. Solution is to clean them, a shot of WD40 sometimes does it.

Depends if you can get your door panels off. there are two screws in the arm rest and the rest is panel clips, maybe a row of self tappers at the bottom of the trim panel. If you can get it off, you can reach in to the operating rod and squirt WD40.

The tailgate there is a latch either side, sometimes they stick. You bhav eto get the interior panel off and have a good look.

The last time I had the doors apart it all looked fairly straightforward. Can you feel the rod and operate the knob?

Doors won’t open

‘88 GW, three of four doors won’t open from inside handle, as well tailgate won’t open.

Is this a common problem? Solutions?
