Looking for a 3.4-4 lift kit for my 2020 jl. Wont be doing any extreme off roading but like the moderate trails.

Which do you recommend? rough country? teraflex? jks?

Rock Krawler is a good one to check out too. I went with the 2.5” adventure series kit and I’m pretty happy with it. I installed it a few days before I got my wheels and could not tell a difference in the way it rode vs factory. Once I got my wheels and tires it became stiffer I’m guessing because the tires have much stiffer sidewalls.

What size tire, and load rating did you go with?

Yeah, that's basically a load range E tire. I'm planning on a load range C tire for my JLU. The ones I wanted are on back order, so I'm stuck running the stock tires for now. I like tire size.com for tire shopping, it has a lot of good info if you spend a little time looking at different sizes & brands.

That site does have a ton of info. It says my tires are F load rating on there and appears to be the only option in that size/model. I picked that tire based on the tread pattern and never considered the load rating. Just curious, what tire did you pick that was a C rating?

I like Toyo tires, so I figured a set of Toyo all terrain tires would work for the first couple years of daily driving my new JLU. I am not planning on a lift for a couple years so I don’t void the warranty. I want the largest tires that will work OK without a lift. 285/75-17’s will fit the OEM wheels, and spare tire carrier. At 33.9” tall they will provide the appearance I am looking for, over the stock 32” street tread Michelin’s. The local shop where I buy my tires from couldn’t get them last month, but I’m going to call them this week and have them check again. I know I could get them online, but I try to spend money locally as much as I can for some stuff.

Yeah I like Toyo tires as well. I'm pretty sure Nitto and Toyo are technically the same company. I run Toyo Proxes II on my Chevy Avalanche and love them. I probably would have got Open Country ATs this time if the Ridge Grapplers hadn't caught my eye. My old JK had Nitto Terra Grappler AT2 on it and they were bad to pick up rocks and sling them out at 60mph and I figured Open Country's ATs would be the same.

One good thing about running 12 ply tires is, I doubt you will get many flat tires.

Beautiful rig! What engine do you have? Did you regear for the 37’s? I’m not sure if 411 would be enough gear for 37’s. Maybe it would work better with the new 8 speed automatic. I love the lines of the JLU with a hardtop.

Does anyone know for a fact if putting a non Mopar lift on a new JLU will void the warranty? I’m talking about if I install it myself. I have heard Yes and No from two different dealerships. It would be nice to know the facts on this.

That will always be an unknown since a dealer could red flag you or not and then one day do it anyway when it fits the need. Remember Fiat dont make a lift, its out sourced to some of the same companies that make lifts anyway. They UP charge for it then UP charge you again for the install.

larger tires could be easily argued and rightfully that it puts a greater strain on the drive train. The lift its self really only effects the drive shaft angles. making them wear faster.

I personal had an issue with warranty my self. Oddly it did not effect the engine when the head went out at 20k. But when a serious issue happened they pulled the, its the lift and it went to Legal department immediately at Fiat and from that point i was told to pound sand. Was an issue withe SRS system. they even did a Black Box inspection that took to do i had to sign off on for them to do. when that did not go the way they liked. they pulled the lift card.

After that i knew i would never buy a Fiat made product ever again, ever. even if they were the last auto maker on earth.

If the dealer determines that the aftermarket lift caused the failure of a drive line part, they can deny warranty coverage on the part that failed. That being said, if the water pump crapped out under warranty, that would have to be covered as a lift wouldn't have caused the failure.

If you stay at 2-2.5", shouldn't be a problem.

A lot is going to depend on the dealership. A mod friendly dealer won't question it.
