|Sparkchaser1998||P0698 was the last code scanned- sensor reference voltage 3 circuit low. So far it appears that K29 white/brown wire, APPS N0. 2 Signal is shorted to ground, though I haven't disconnected the harness from the PCM yet to verify whether it is grounding through the PCM or to K167 or K400 wires. Tomorrow I'll pull out the battery and tray to get to the PCM. I found out today our local library has a subscription to AllData so I went down there and signed on to it and did a lot of digging. It appears that the factory service manual I found on Jeep Forum or somewhere has less pages (at least in the electrical section) than the online version available at AllData, plus at AllData they have a color version of some of the wiring diagrams that make following a circuit through from one end to the other easier. I'm still looking for a bit fuller version of the FSM to download for offline use. Interestingly, my Jeep's trouble code P0698 doesn't show in my copy of FSM but does show up in additional pages of the FSM shown in AllData. That's why I'm still looking for the newer edition of the FSM.|

|Tetto||Just checked the FSM I have and learned it's the same as yours|

|jtec||I am thinking Maybe post the code and describe issue - we could check TSB's and hopefully code specific circuits from trouble tree..|

2008 Grand Cherokee CRD wiring
Hello all, I'm looking for diesel CRD-specific wiring diagrams. I already have pdf of 7000+ page FSM but it doesn't show much regarding the CRD. I also have the diesel supplement (called Chapter 9) but that only covers engine mechanicals of the diesel. I searched this site and lots of dead ends I got a color version of the wiring diagrams but those are also mostly gas-engine specific. One BIG difference I see with my CRD is the PCM is on the driver (left) side front under the battery, and has only 2 cable plugs, C1 and C2 while the gas versions have 3 plugs for the wiring harnesses and is located on passenger(right) side firewall.
I'm currently trying to troubleshoot APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) problem. According to JSCAN the APPS always reports 89-91% position to PCM at all speeds and RPMs. The APPS has double inputs to the PCM so the vehicle still runs, but occasionally the vehicle loses power and the );( light comes on. I'm an electrician by trade so looking forward to getting better documentation for this vehicle.
Incidentally, today I found out the APPS isn't the type that has sliding contacts that wear out or get dirty after a while. It appears to be perhaps a hall-effect sensor in a sealed compartment and the moving magnet in another compartment of the same accelerator pedal assembly so no moving parts in the electronic side of the unit. Thus, I couldn't simply test the APPS with an ohmmeter.
Suggestions or comments welcome!
