Wolfeman1992 I decided to go with a lm7 5.3 vortec 4l60e and np241 no adapters required just mounts and and wiring, a guy on mallcrawling did it and and it basically dropped in no cutting or trimming hardest part was the exhaust

zjosh93 What about a 2JZ, RB series, or the Ford Barra 4.0? All of them are straight 6s and capable of 1,000 hp. The Barra is even 4.0 liters so you could always tell people "It's a stock 4.0"

Wolfeman1992 Honestly that's the best reply I've gotten to this question outta everywhere I've posted it the normal answers I get

1 switch to a XJ (while the XJ is great not what I want)

2 just get another 4.0 (not what I want considering I've killed 2 of them but probably what's gonna happen)

3 do a 5.2/5.9 swap (hell no if Im gonna engine swap a factory option Im gonna junk my jeep and how l buy a factory V8)

kg6mov They don’t fit particularly well in the zj engine bay. There’s a good swap on fb that cut the zj off at the firewall and fabbed tube frame from there with hangers for stock fenders. That’s probably the best way to do it realistically.

Get another damn 4.0, or swap to a 5.9 if you want to stay with the stock zj platform.

Turbo build? Be creative.
