RubiconFreedom Yesterday, visited our local Valvoline oil center where the general manger re-greased the front end of the jeep. While he inspected his work, We learn that yet again Susquehanna Jeep never greased the reinforced track bar we purchased 1 year ago. Afterward and once everything was greased up, he did a visual inspecting of the trans and both diffs.

While greasing the front end he pulled other mechanics from their lines to show them how to grease vehicles like ours. For 40 mins our jeep was the subject of how to grease the moog ball joints. While we talked, I learn that the general manger's 2008 Dodge avenger was having sway bar link issues. I told him, let me see what I can do for you.

This morning, I just ordered a set of the Dodge Avenger sway links from @RockAuto as a thanks to the shops general manager for treating us & our jeep so well.

Shipped the molle panels back to our powder coaters. Also ordered a new set of the TJM Gold Edition front shocks via SummitRacing as these 2 year old front shocks show signs of damage caused by the dislodged steel plate in the road last winter. All items should arrive next week in time for the new wheels/tires installation in a few weeks afterward.

RubiconFreedom Just ordered a replacement set of the TJM Gold Edition Shocks via SummitRacing. Sat will stop by Valvoline and have then check the grease points on all the ball joints including the track bar. Then we can finally make preparations to have our tire shop order the 4 remaining Nitto Ridge Grapplers for us. The wheel/tire installer said his least busiest day is on Mon. So once the tires arrive at the shop. we'll set up an appointment for the following Mod morning, first thing. I've test painted a set of the old lugs and the paint just didn't work out. So I'm going to polish the DPA lugs instead, this should help protect the lugs from fading any further. Lastly, finally had a chance to send the Powertank molle panels back to our powder coaters. We'll do this Sat morning also. Busy Busy..

RubiconFreedom @amywest11 not to hound you, but this is something we'll be upgrading in the future as we've increased the size of our wheels and tires to 34'' So check into Powerstop brakes via Rockauto,14204

amywest11 So here is what I found out about the Jeep and poor gas mileage....Turns out 3 of my 4 breaks were seized. Crazy! Why didn't I smell the pads burning??? Anyway, it spared the rotors and I put new pads on all the way around. I am going to have my hubby and friend put on calipers all the way around. Suggestions on best place to get? Certain kind? Going rate? I stopped at autozone already but just doing my research. Thanks all!!

RubiconFreedom Wasn't done today, but should be done soon as possible.

As many here may or may not know, last ,march we drove over a dislodged steel plate in the road. This caused damage to the drag link, tie rod, sway links and steering damper. However even after replacing these components, I fear there was more damage than meets the eye.

Yesterday my fears came true. The right front shock has completely collapsed and needs to be replaced. Checking the shock's warranty site first, "wear & tear" is not covered under this warranty, so new shocks are on order and we'll need to have these installed before the new tires are mounted up.

To all those who think your shocks are good for 50K miles or more, you've not ran over a deep pot hole or ditch at 45 mpg and suffered damage to your entire front end. I sort of knew something was up, but tried to hold out for as long as we could. New shocks will be ordered at the end of the week.

tsteb112 In the last couple of months Iíve done a few more things. I started competing in car shows and have actually won a few awards. I built a tailgate table and made the vinyl stickers for it. I also wired a light and bolted in a bottle opener on the tailgate. I installed the first half of the rockhard cage. Itís been to humid to paint lately. Maybe this weekend Iíll get to the t portion. I installed a Kenwood DDX376BT headunit. We went wheeling at Uwharrie a couple of weeks ago. I also got rid of my seat covers and purchases some QTEC Style seat covers from Quadratec. They feel great and the seat isnít hot like neoprene gets. Itís been fun and busy around here lately.

Door Hangers

Built some door hangers out of some old 2x4's, a piece of scrap plywood, 3" screws and some old floor mats my wife was going to toss out. They work great and I was able to repurpose stuff that I'd been kicking around for a while.

Brianscj5 Installed a front facing camera, cleaned up light bar wiring and found that the JKS adjustable sway bar link upper mounted had worked its way loose on both sides. All in all a productive day.

NoCheapJeeps An easy day today -- all I did was install new hood latches on the JKU -- as I was starting to notice a little hood flutter. These ones lock as I always found it weird that anyone walking by could just open up the hood without any problem.

RubiconFreedom With warmer temps this morning, I'm working on a jig that will support 2 or 3 DPA wheel lugs. Reason is, we've had a set of these lugs on the jeep for about 1 month and they are already starting to fade. I contacted DPA and they're not going to do anything about this fading. In fact the spokes persons down right rude to me about bringing this up. He also informs me that their lugs are not powder coated, rather lightly painted. This give us the opportunity to repaint this lugs ourself.

Just another reason one should repaint or re-powder coat any & all parts before installing them on your jeep. Hopefully I can complete this repainting before we purchase the new tires.

NoCheapJeeps Had a few checklist items I wanted to take care of today.

Number one was replacing the seals on the Freedom Top. We shall see how successful that was when it rains next.

Second was removing the doors and lubing the hinge pins. Successful.

Third was replacing a hinge pin I broke last week on the passenger door. Not so successful. I pounded at the hinge pin assembly with a 16oz rubber mallet but it decided that it would stay where it was for now. I admired its tenacity so I decided it would be a project for another day.

Finally some paint touch ups. That was done.

JeepNJeffy I picked it up from the shop after having a upgraded Rubicon Express rear drive shaft and 1 inch body lift installed........washed it and drove it around and crawled under it to check the new addition
