Rod knocking? 1 wk before christmas! fml
Hows it goin
Im pretty new here and just signed up for an account a couple weeks ago to ask a question while replacing my heater core, ac evap, and blend doors.
I pulled the dash, steering wheel/column, etc on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 4.7 v8 and although I have heat, Ive also got a pretty wicked noise coming from my engine. The noise upon acceleration just started a couple days ago although for the past 10 months im pretty sure i was hearing a slight knocking type sound while idling.
Im thinking this new noise is a rod knocking which is a total ***** especially a week before christmas (we've got 3 youngins).. I took a video of the noise while revving and was hoping for opinions and or potential solutions. If its indeed a rod, I assume its either time for a new vehicle or time for a different engine (more than likely the latter). Im not a mechanic by any means but do try to fix what I can with the resources of gods brain (the internet). I did try to take it to autozone to have it hooked up to a computer to see if it threw any codes but for some reason the computer was saying it couldn't give data or something? I dk what thats about and I haven't looked into it yet online but if anyone knows what that means, please let me know.
I just watched the jeep pass 155,555 about 100 miles ago and we've put approx 90k on it since we've had it but my lady has been driving it moreso recently (kids to and from school, store, extra curricular stuff, etc)
I have to post a link to the file which is in my google drive if anyone wants to have a listen.

Any ideas, opinions, solutions, would be greatly appreciated. Btw im damn near broke and pretty stressed, fml.
