As soon as I installed my lift, I took it for a test ride on some hills and it pulled the rear brake hose loose (way too short) and dumped my brake fluid everywhere. I made it home and bought a longer YJ hose to fix the problem.

Lowes, Home Depot, and other places have grade 8/10.9 bolts.

kluttsy01 Took this bout 6 hours ago, messed around with the break line and shock bolts then took it for a test drive.. found something on the front end loose so went back to the barn and rechecked everything and pop goes the track bar bolt... so to the dealer I go in the morning, so much for a 5-6 hour install time.

3 upper shock bolts, lower control on the unibody were froze inside the grommet busted an already weak break line. Nothing ever goes as smooth as it should but the back is done besides the whole bolt thing and front is ready go go back together.

That sounds about normal for an XJ. I never had so many issues lifting any of my TJs. Rear upper shock bolts snapping are a given. I have zero rust on my Jeeps and those cheap bolts still snap. At least with XJ's, you can spend $25 and make things so much easier.

I broke off three of four, one of the studs holding the crossmember on, the pitman arm had to be cut off along with two of the bolts holding the rear leafs on. I hope he had an easier time than i did.

I ran them and liked them. Quiet enough and decent on the road. Not good with ice.

I'm not very brand loyal. I like the ls platform for its simplicity and ruggedness. But I prefer ford axles and run a dodge transfer caseish thing. And have a random picture.

SmashDN Be curious to hear how you like those general grabbers when you get some miles on them. Think I'll be going to something more aggressive when my current set or tires is retired. More aggressive on both rigs, my Sierra and the XJ.

Luke95 You can't bounce one off the rev limiter with the crank pointed at sky and hope it lives. The 4.8 you can.
