|luv-me-jeep||I just spoke with Chrysler, after making an appointment to have my rear dome water leak fixed and after surfing and reading numerous blogs is what prompted me to call Chrysler before the dealerships' First repair attempt. that Many owners are having this issue, I only have 1700 miles on my Compass 2015, and want to nip this in the bud now..but after reading multiple Failed Dealership attempts to fix, ruined jeep interiors, as per the internet, I am worried. When I spoke to Chrysler, they act as if this is "news" to them. and refuse to believe anything on the Internet, in any Jeep Blog. what ALL of us Owners need to do .. is call Chrysler and file a report of this problem. Now this becomes a flagged Issue on their data base. after they receive so many, it becomes a possible Recall possibility concern. if you don't speak up... they won't know. It only becomes an entry at a Dealership. take the time to Call Chrysler, ask them to create a File about the concern. I explained I took my dog to the park today, it had rained all weekend, I stayed home, so no rain had entered through an open hatch...no garage..the jeep is out in all weather. the sun had been out and hatch door and seal was all DRY. however when I went around a turn, my dog got a Shower! in the back of the Compass through the dome light! it wasn't a drip, it was a considerable amount, evidently rain was pooling from somewhere! ( next thing you know, bad moldy headliner, shorted out electronics, and smelly seats. ) from what I read most of these problems occurred in Patriots, and those with moon roofs. mine has no moon roof. I was searching for blogs, so I can offer some suggestions, of locations to check for leaks entry points, because from what I read, many owners had to return numerous times, to the dealer with no resolve. I don't want to "go there" aka repeat visits, and I told Chrysler so and that if they are aware of a growing problem, they need to find out the cause and then notify ALL dealerships, so they know WHAT to fix, to fix it Right the First time, before serious damage has incurred, as a result. blogs are great...for owners to communicate...but we need to also communicate to the top of the ladder, so they can address this problem, before it becomes a major issue. or you are just working with a mechanic, who is possibly guessing. Please take the time to call Chrysler themselves. (thanks for the side rail tip... merlinTech.. I will pass that on to my dealership mechanic.|

Rear Dome Water Leak, Chryler But Back
Who's Patriot has water leaks? Has anyone file at claim to Chrysler for a buy back. Here is my story:
My 08 Patriot is at the dealers now and has been there for two weeks. Water leak at rear dome light. This is the fifth time at the dealers. Dealer has no idea where it leaks. They even took it to a body shop. I filed a complaint with Chrysler they been putting me off. Still waiting and trying to get them to buy it back since it is still under warranty. I am passed the lemon law date in VA. Anything older than 18 months is to late to file a lemon law claim.
