I rebuilt my tensioner when it started sticking and destroyed a water pump. That was in 3/2015 and it's still working perfectly with zero play in it.
So it's the factory-original Mopar from late 1997 @ 150k miles on original pulley bearings and all original parts

Benthal8 I'm starting to think all belt tensioner parts are made by Litens? First I ordered a Dayco pulley from Advanced, when it came in it said Litens on it, not Dayco. Unfortunately, that didn't get rid of the ticking sound I was hearing, so next I got a Gates tensioner from Rock Auto -- yup, made by Litens.
It fixed the ticking sound though.

Not at all, when steering & suspension is in good shape. Ultra4 guys do close to 120mph in KOH desert sections

The 46RH transmission in my vehicle has a transmission governor.

This has centrifugal weights regulating hydraulic pressure that moves a large piston.

It looks like this is intended to disengage the direct drive clutch at some fast velocity. My vehicle has never reached that velocity.

My guess is activation of that system becomes very scary, very fast.
