have a 2014 patriot 2 wheel drive with 2.0 4 cylinder, manual transmission, and 52k miles. engine recently started running rough and then the electronic throttle control light and the traction control light started flashing. have very little power and have a hard time reaching 40 mph. did some digging and realized that spark plugs were 20k past recommended change mileage. Changed the plugs and jeep still has same dash lights flashing.

Traction control light flashing means an issue with the traction control system, nothing to do with spark plugs.
Traction control works by manipulating the brakes to direct power away from wheels that are slipping by applying the brakes to that wheel. If the TC system thinks one wheel is constantly slipping, it will keep applying the brakes to that wheel. This is why you can't get up to speed and feel like there's no power.
Most likely cause is a bad wheel speed sensor giving the TC system bad info.

Hi 4stinky,

Sorry to hear of the trouble you are experiencing with your Patriot. If you have not done so already, we recommend addressing this with your local Jeep dealer as they are in the best position to assist. Our team is just a private message away if you are in need of any additional assistance with that process.
