2013 Compass 2.4 stuck crank no start

Good day everyone.
Our 2013 Compass was parked in the street for about 2 weeks, not being used.
Went to start it this past weekend, it would turn over, but not start.
The WEIRD thing about it was..
Turning the key to START, then letting go, the starter would keep trying.
Had to turn the key to OFF for it to stop.
Took battery out, put it on charger overnight.
Freshly charged battery, same thing.
Took out the starter this morning (God that SUX).
Bench tested just fine.
No green boogers / corrosion on any of the contacts.

What's the next step, I'm stuck??

Thanks

Your jeep has TIP start.. perfectly normal . Pretty much the precursor to a push button start. Turn key to start and let go and it will keep trying until it turns over. 3 times I believe. Nothing wrong with the starter or battery.

Is your security light blinking or engine light?
Need to check fuel (was it drained or syphoned) , spark with noid light and check for engine codes

If you turn the key to “on” you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime

When is the last time you filled up? Phase separation with ethanol
sucks. The water will sink down to the bottom of the the gas tank.
There are additives that can help "blend" the water with the fuel
you can try. Phase separation can occur with in 3 months, and with
people driving less it can happen sooner because it sits longer at
gas stations much longer. Use a station that has a high turn over,
and drive the Jeep... I've noticed this is becoming a problem due to
covid among all makes and models. 0.02

When we do right, no one remembers. When we do wrong, no one forgets.
