Whoa! No way am I paying this!!!

08 manual has been popping out of first. Looked it up online and there is a TSB but no recall. Took it to the dealer. They’ve had it 2 weeks and quoted me $4300 for a rebuild and $6800 for a replacement transmission. Screw then and screw Chrysler. I have no idea what to do now.

labor will be high on any 4x4 trans work auto or manual. see remans for 5kish. so that sounds about right at 100$ an hour. since it would bet includes a clutch? they are in it its just parts now.

Just to compare prices you can get a Trans for $3500- $4000 from AutoZone. Plus you have the cost of clutch and anything else that has wear. If you can't do the job your self you I would say about $900 for labor. So anywhere for $5000 - $6000. So the dealer is not to far off. I'm sure if you shop around you may find cheaper. I would start with a local trans shop for a quote. What sucks is that is about 1/2 of what the Jeep is worth.

Pardon me for not following through on the question. In our area and with past wranglers, we were looking at new or rebuilt transmissions coating roughly $1,800 I merely suggested that if a B&M shifter is not within the rebuild, you're going to have the same issue in the future.
