Tie rod ends

Passenger side tie rod end needs replaced. Having some difficulty finding the correct part number to replace it. It looks like an aftermarket tie rod. Anyone have any ideas? TIA

Good luck getting those hex crusher bolts out, I broke my allen wrench trying to. What is wrong with those anyways? in case you dont know, that bar is supposed to have some rotational movement....they just cant have any side to side movement.

Dont see why mopar couldnt get you the part.

That looks like the Poly Performance HD tie rod to me. I would call PP and see if you cant order a single end from them, no point going back to those crappy ungreasable stock ones.

The PP tie rod is a different design than factory; it does not have any rotational movement (not by hand at least).

But I am curious, how do you know it needs replaced Metal?

I have a lot of play in the steering and the only thing I can find wrong in the linkage is about an 1/8" of vertical movement between the orange lines in this picture. It is very stiff to rotate by hand. I can rotate the drag link by hand, but nothing sloppy.

I dont think thats not normal, atleast mine doesnt move vertical. Is the hex bolt really really tight? its what prevent movement. Also that nut should be torqued to about 125lbs I believe. If its a PP tie rod, they will have a end they can send you, might be free too...

Ahh, yeah that's definitely not normal then. I don't see a cotter pin in that castle nut...are you sure it just hasn't gotten lose? That little puck should be squished between the knuckle and the tie rod end not just chillin there.

The castle nut is tight and doesn't move when I push up on the joint.

I believe that could be the part number for the non Rubicon or a Rubicon with a stock tie rod. Mine is actually just the small end that needs replaced.

Thanks They were very helpful. Poly performance part number is PMP-EX2234L or R? Looks like the Moog replacement part # is ES2010L or R. Getting them both from Napa to be sure. They are for a 1 ton GM.

Just saw your post,
It sounds like the guys got you taken care of.

Edit: BTW, that's a heat treated Cro-Mo Tie rod with 3/4 Ton+ equivalent Tie-Rod ends.
