REPLACING STOCK FOG LIGHT BULBS WITH LEDs ??

One of the fog light bulbs (PN PSX24W) burned out on our 2012 Wrangler Unlimited. In researching where to get a replacement, I came across LED equivalents which I am very interested in. The problem is there are so many wattages, Kelvin choices, and price ranges I can't decide which ones to buy.

Has anyone else been through this exercise yet or have any recommendations?

I ordered these: http://www.hidguy.net/hms-h10-9140-9...ight-led-bulb/ I got the cree 50w in Amber. I now see no reason to buy aftermarket fogs to replace my stock. This bulb is amazing. I had red, switched because I didn't want a ticket in my area.

If you want the red ones I can sell them to you. Used for 2 days. Have original packaging. PM if you are interested in making an offer.

Either way they are amazing.

Hmmm....Red LED's would be good for my night vision. LOL!

Only Blue lights are illegal on a vehicle down here. Blue = Sheriff/Police/"Po-Po".

How do those LED bulbs work with our stock reflector lens? I honestly don't know if that makes a difference.
Is there any flickering associated with the LED's and our JK CANBUS? I've read of LED headlights needing an anti-flicker harness.

Well, I ordered red because I thought the pic of the Amber was too yellow for me and I wanted a bright deep Orange. So I ordered red thinking darkroom and night use means if Amber is good, red must be better.

I was right. Red was terrific. Looks awesome as well.

As far as flickering, I have none. They throw the light. I'll go put red back in takes two minutes. Then take a pic.

PM me so I can send pics as I have trouble on this thing with resolution and size restrictions.

Going to take pics now...

They sound awesome, but the base looks nothing like the stock bulb I mentioned. Are there adapters / drivers needed and do theses work with the factory driving light enclosure?

hey thanx for the link. I have been looking for amber bulbs for my fogs. I drive on small dark road that get foggy often. This is just what I needed.

So like the other person posted they just plug in to the factory harness and fit the housing fine?

I would also love to see the red pictures.

do you think white in the fogs is better than amber?

His link is to an H10 bulb.
I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure the '12+ JKs use an H16 bulb.

Red lights in the front are almost certainly illegal for on-road use.

I have an 08 JKUS. I just spoke with commish of local city PD. He told me while not "the best color choice" the PD won't stop you for colored fogs, only headlights. And especially if not being an *** on the road. If stopped for alternate reasons, may bust chops for color. I have Amber now and no worries.

Not sure if white or Amber is better. I believe it's all about the spread and throw of light. Any improvement based on color is negligible and maybe observable only in lab tests, not real world. But I claim to not really know.

I got ahold of them in time to have them switch my order to the correct bulbs.
