Recommendations for LED sidemarker lights

I am looking for recommendations for LED side marker lights on my 2014 JKU. It has the stock fenders and stock side marker lights. I am looking for something that is plug and play.

I found numerous cheap ones. I am looking for something good, such as on the level of JW Speaker. I don’t care about cost too much. I am more concerned about quality.

I have JW Speaker headlights already. I also have a really nice set of led tail lights.

My sidemarker light is burnt and I see it as an opportunity to switch these to LED.

I just ordered JW Speaker front turn signals.

In the meantime I have watched numerous videos showing how to change it and it looks like a pain in the ***. That being said, the videos I watched were of first generation JK’s and not second generation.

Maybe the second generation doesn’t have a ridiculous fender liner that is so difficult to deal with and get out of the way?

The JW Speaker turn signals showed up on my doorstep today. It will probably be a week before I can install them. I opened the box. These are fantastic and you can tell it is a quality part.

For the sidemarkers, I decided to go with LED bulbs from Diode Dynamics. My research indicates that these have many advantages and are of a much higher quality than most led bulb replacements. I went with them because I didn’t want to mess with the inner fender liner. They were $20 for a pair, so if I don’t like them, it’s not a lot of money wasted.

Those turn signals though, wow. What a quality piece! I wish I had time to install them now instead of a week from now.

The side marker LEDís have not been delivered yet.

They should arrive tomorrow.

I plan on installing the turn signals and side markers Wednesday or Thursday because of the way I am working.

Side marker LED lights came in on Saturday. They are basically 194 bulbs, but LED instead. They came with a three year warranty despite only costing $20 for a pair.

I installed them while at work. It was difficult to remove the OEM bulb on the driver side. On the passenger side it was difficult to reinstall the socket assembly into the harness until I put some spray silicone lube on the plastic.

They are bright but the light is concentrated in the center and doesn’t diffuse as much as I would like.

I would take a picture but at night, my iPhone 6 camera gets washed out by the brightness so I will try in the day time.

It’s just side markers so IMHO these are fine.

I just went look again. They are noticeably brighter than the factory front turn signal / running lights.

On my days off I will install front turn signals. That will be Wednesday or Thursday.

Got the front turn signals installed today. Itís about a fifteen minute job. I probably should have taken pictures to document it but I had to for the rain to stop in order to start the job and worked quickly to get it done before the rain would return.

I tried pictures tonight but obviously they are washed out so in the daytime I may have better pictures.

I'm also curious about this. I ordered some Phillips LED direct replacement bulbs for the stock housing, but they were too long, and didn't fit.

I went with Diode Dynamics which were essentially replacement bulbs for the side markers. They were about $20 for the pair and fit perfectly.

For the front turn signals, instead of getting replacement bulbs, I went with JWSpeaker turn signal assemblies. They already have the correct resistors built in so you donít get the fast flash like when one of your bulbs are out.

They were about $200 for the pair. They are really well made and attach to the grill in a much better way than the OEM ones. The styling matches the JW Speaker headlights that I already had.

There are cheaper brands of replacement turn signals but everything I read is the quality sucks as many people report problems with them breaking during installation

I am really pleased with these results, especially the turn signals.
