Finished my Lift

AEV 3.5 premium lift with 35's and the AEV 17" pintlers grey. I have to put the center caps on still. Not sure what i should do with the rear tire carrier because i cant afford a new bumper yet. Any ideas?

sweet jeep bro. black jeep society lives!!!

I think the stock carrier being able to hold a 35 inch tires is a jeep to jeep thing. Some stock carriers seem to just be able to handle it, while others are not. It also seems to depend on the backspacing you have. mine actually has more room and fits better on the carrier since i got my bigger tires. go figure. I would give it a shot, put it on, and watch it to see if anything is being stressed...

Your Jeep looks great. I have that same lift too so I know youíre going to love it.

Put your tire on the carrier and if you have gaps between the tire snubbers the get the Daystar tailgate bumpstops and install them. They will keep your spare from moving and keep your tailgate in one piece. Depending on tire height you may need to modify the bumper.

Thanks, i will try putting the tires on the stock carrier tonight. Not sure what to do with the third break light. I am not a huge fan of the stock. I saw a breaklight that mounts to the holes inside the rim of the spare, i cant seem to locate it online though. Anyone seen or have experience with those or if rewiring them is hard?

Dude, the Bestop tire carrier is rated for 200 pounds and handles up to a 37" tire. Replaces the stock carrier. Sweet.
I have my 37" spare on it. Love it.
Relocates the third red eye too.

I think the Bestop tire carrier would be fine if you don't plan on taking it offroad much, but I think it still poses similar tailgate issues as the stocker if you ever happen to come down on a rock with the spare. They have tire carriers out there that can work with the OEM bumper and not require you to do the full "rear bumper & tire carrier" $1000+ combo (AEV and OR-FAB to name a couple).

I put this one on my TJ... worked great and pretty easy to install. I assume it'd be just as easy to install on a JK. I'll probably use it again when I get my 35s and rear carrier.

BTW... mind if I ask if you had anything extra you had to do w/ the lift? I'm planning and looking at 2.5" now, mainly because I don't want to get into doing a bunch of other mods just to run 35s.

Looks really nice. You are going to love how it rides and handles with the AEV lift.

...............If you're tight on cash, look at the AEV rear carrier for the stock bumper. It performs several other functions than just carrying a tire, plus you can always add the bumper at a later time.

Did those wheels push your tires out past the fender flares? Any chance you could post a pic from straight on the front of the jeep?
