Can't place new order

I was all set to place an order with a local dealership with the JKU that I wanted. I tried to get the order placed a few weeks ago but I'm told that Jeep isn't accepting any orders at the moment as they are switching over to the 2018 models. My guy just called me to just let me know he still doesn't have any information. Does anyone know when they may start taking orders again? Also what I don't know is from what I understand Jeep will still be making the JK's for a while yet so will I still be able to get the same vehicle that I put together 3 weeks ago? I really wanted to get an order in and get exact jeep I wanted but I'm getting frustrated with not knowing anything.

Thanks again for the information. The only thing I've been able to find online is what you shared with me already. Killing me that I was all set to pull the trigger on my order and got hit with an extra month wait until I can even place my order and that's providing pricing and all that doesn't change much. I sure wish I knew more. Also do I understand this to mean I can place my order on august 10 but it would not be started on the build end until October 2nd? I was dreading the 4/6 week wait as it was. I may not get my jeep end of Oct early November at this rate.

That's what insiders are saying. This comes from a guy that actually works in the Toledo Assembly plant.

No, early 18's will be JK, built in the Toledo South plant. The Toledo North Assembly plant will be on line for the JL in Nov of this year.

There will be some crossover where you can order either a JK or a JL.

I wrote Jeep yesterday to see if I could maybe get some more info. Not much but thought I'd share their reply.

Dear Glen:

Thank you for contacting the Jeep Information Center. I appreciate your
interest.

I regret to hear you have missed the ordering window for the 2017 Jeep
Wrangler. I understand your interest in the all new 2018 Jeep Wrangler
and appreciate the time taken to reach out to us further.

At this time, FCA and Jeep have not announced any information regarding
our 2018 Jeep Wrangler lineup. I would be unable to advise at this time
what models and features will be offered, however, preliminary
pre-production information indicates the features and options offered on
the 2017 Jeep Wrangler are anticipated to remain unchanged for the 2018
model year.

As our Jeep website and "Build & Price" tool are only meant to reflect
current Dealership Inventory, you should see these resources updated
closer to the market launch of these vehicles. I would encourage you to
keep updated on all new Jeep announcements by visiting our Media Website
(media.fcanorthamerica.com) as they become available.

We encourage you to stay posted with your preferred Jeep dealership or
the Jeep Product Information Center periodically for future vehicle
updates. Please feel free to sign up for updates on the Jeep brand by
visiting https://www.jeep.com/get_connected/. By signing up, you will
receive a quarterly eNewsletter with updates and information as it
becomes available on new vehicles, special offers, upcoming events, and
more.

If you have any further product questions about the current Jeep lineup,
you are always welcome to reply back to this email and I will respond
back to you as promptly as I can. If you prefer, you can also reach us
directly with your questions at the Jeep Product Information Center by
calling
1-877-426-5337. When you call, we can connect you directly to
your local dealership, providing your call is during the dealer's hours
off operation.

Thanks again for your email, Glen.

Sincerely,
