Both my 2010's had serious hood flutter out here in Idaho... windy conditions with commercial trucks passing almost made it scary... but a set of Drake hood pins solved the hood flutter

I took out the spring, took out the air dam and installed a Skidrow skid--

No flutter--

I just use a .28 cent zip tie on each side. I had the blue laying around but need to snag some black ones. Does the job perfectly, and cheap.

Just ordered daystars from northridge4x4. Coming home yesterday w/25-30mph winds+18 wheelers+plastic air dam and hood spring removed=serious hood flutter. Removing the spring helped out a lot, however this arctic blast proved to be too much. I like the skid row skid, I just don't like the tattoo.

I didn't really notice any flutter on my new (used 2007) Jeep for the first month, then after losing the air dam in the woods during a blizzard, I sometimes wonder if the hold downs are about to snap.

Forgot about this.

I ended up cutting ~4" off each end and left the rest. The flutter is worse on the highway, but i just turn the music up and forget about it. I will end up with some aftermarket latches.

Good welds, good powder coating and perfect fit, although I had to drill for the skid plate-no problemo-

I removed the air dam also and only get occasional hood flutter on the interstate when around big trucks. I've not noticed any loss in mpg and have been without it for a few thousand miles.
