2015 Mopar Soft top vs Bestop Supertop NX

Hey Guys,

So I know that this has been a conversation on the forum, but I haven't seen one more recent..

So I am in the market for a Soft Top....and I can get the Mopar top for a little less than the Bestop Supertop since I know someone at the dealership.

My 2 questions are:

Which one is the better top (functioning, quality, cost)?

Is the window tint on the Mopar top the same as the Bestop? If not, how much of a difference is there between the two?

If you guys could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks.

-Brett

Bestop makes the OEM tops, right?

I personally like the OEM tops. Hardware is very nice. The 2013-now have the spring loaded system too that is a breeze.

Also, looking at the Supertop instructions - there's a lot of work to install that top. The OEM top was really really simple to install. It was pre assembled too and is well designed for ease of use. I see that the Supertop has a screw system to attach it to the windshield - OEM top uses a clamp.

Thanks for the response Matt.

Bestop is the manufacturer for the Mopar tops, but I have heard both sides of the story to the quality.

I've heard that the Mopar top is nicer and better quality (indicative of why it's more expensive and comes from the factory). I've also heard people say that Bestop is higher grade than mopar and they can offer it at a lesser price because it is not MOPAR branded.

If everyone took price out of the deciding factor, which top would you go with???

If you really want to compare pricing.....Bestop Supertop NX is 1029.99 on Quadratec......and Mopar Top will cost me $971 with a discount at the dealer.

Also - the OEM top comes assembled with the door surrounds in one box and windows in the other. Install is a snap.

I love Bestop's stuff, but I'd take the OEM top over the Supertop in a heartbeat.

There are tons of videos on Youtube for install and removal of each top. Watch and see the differences and decide what is better.

Well the assembly bit has me just about sold lol. I just looked over Bestop's instructions......while its not hard.....looks like lots of little things to do.

One last thing before I pull the trigger......any idea on how the tint compares? Like is Mopar as dark as the Supertop? Are they the same?

I don't understand how there would be a difference in quality if bestop makes all of the soft tops for jeeps and is the factory supplier? Besides the tint should be the same?

The only difference would be the weight and amount of material used no?
