2015 jk coolant smell

Iíve had my JK for a bit now, and I keep getting a coolant smell no matter what time of the year. No visible leaks, even swapped the radiator, and cap.. even did the plastic baggie under the overflow cap trick.. still smells from time to time. Any of you got a clue?

Thanks

You might have a leak on the left side radiator tank. I had to get under mine and looked up to even see it.

I got lucky on our ‘14. Chased the smell forever. Lost little coolant. But when crawling it started dripping on the differential. I kept laying under it at every stop and finally found the drips coming off the overflow/recovery tank. New bottle and we’re good. Never could see anything after a highway run but crawling it didn’t blow away.

Iíll have to look at the tank.. I did put a line on the tank a bit ago and it does seem to be losing a little bit. bugs the crap out of me. Everything appears to be dry around the pump.. and the hoses are all good too.

Iíll crawl under it tomorrow after my drive home.

Thanks guys!

My 2015 has the same smell, replaced radiator & thermostat assembly ( housing was cracked) still slightly smells. I also loose a small amount of coolant, but no leak, and no sign of water in oil.

2016 here. Have same smell. No leakage observed. Or loss of coolant level.

Mine cracked about 3 inches below the top on the driver side tank. Just enough to keep the over flow tank empty. It was covered by everything, couldnt see it. I could see dried residue but never a drip or steady leak because it would burn off dry up before it hit the ground. I replaced mine at 48k miles when my temp guage went up higher than normal.
