2007 Unlimited JK Gas Cap

Just picked up a used JK. The gas cap is throwing a code on dash. Changed gas cap and display still reads check engine light / gascap. Anything else it can be? new to Jeeps, but diving right in. Any help much appreciated.

It still could be the gas cap. Did you buy a Mopar one or did you buy an aftermarket one?

The fuel tank must be 1/4 to 3/4 full because a near empty tank or a full tank can affect the accuracy of the EVAP self-test. The ambient outside temperature must not be too hot (above 95 degrees) or too cold (below 30 degrees) because this affects fuel volatility and the amount of vapor inside the tank.

IDEA:

Why not post the secret code - it would help us get the big picture.

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.
