How a stock XJ saved my built WJ
On my way home from Idontrememberville and passing big plot of property that at one point was a large office building. It has since be demolished, leaving little more than a small mountain of dirt, and a wide pond. I've always wanted to see how my WJ would do going through the pond, but only rolling on 31s with +2 height, I've never taken chances with it. It was later at night and I was feeling adventurous so I took a slight detour through the property and around the big pond. Well the weeds kept getting taller and taller, and the ground a little bit rougher. At one point I hit a hard stop (wasn't rolling fast, so no damage, but hard enough to know that I wasn't going any further in that direction). Back it up a little, turn about 30 degrees to the left, and up a small incline that immediately drops about 3 feet. Now, I get pretty good traction with my Coopers. But when you're high centered with open diffs, 2 wheels on the ground doesn't get you very far. Or anywhere in my case. So here I am, trespassing alone in this rugged field, stuck as all hell. Luckily, I was only about a mile away from home. So I called up my old man who drove out with my brothers XJ. With a little finesse, the WJ popped right out of its predicament. Thank goodness for the tow hooks on the front.
