What amount of rust is normal, and what should I be looking for when inspecting frame

Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a TJ, and in my price range of about $8k, I'm looking at 120-150k miles which means there's usually a bit of rust on the frame. I'm assuming surface rust is okay, and any time the metal appears to have changed shape or is missing some material that's a red flag? What else should I be looking for as a red flag? Here are a few pictures of frames I've seen, is there anything alarming in either of these?

Both of these are a '97, the first 3 are from one with 140k miles, the next 3 are from another that has 110k miles.

The main thing to look at or for is inside the frame. TJs frames rust from the inside out since there is no drain holes. Feel around inside to see.

Also, look at the torque boxes (part of the tub that body mounts bolt to). They will also rust out near the body mounts.

1998 White TJ with a whole lotta stuff...
