Welding front dana 30. Let the betting begin.

Ok so heres the deal. I bought an ARB airlocker and 30 spline super dana 30 kit. Wich will leave me with "Extra" shafts and carrier. I started thinking about it and Im going to weld my spider gears to lock it. Im going to ride the dana 30 locked this way untill it breaks. So I will have a welded stock dana 30 with 4.88 gears and 35s anyone wanna bet on how long it takes me to snap um? (Im not going to purposely try to snap them though.)

If this ends up taking a really long time Im going to just sell the arb and super 30 and just keep buying axles off craigslist for 50 bucks

Hopefully you don't have to drive it on the street. Or do you have a manual hub conversion?

its just a trail rig, no manual hub conversion. That actually doesnt sound like a bad idea though, only problem is its about the same as the ARB was.

Yeah I agree that turning is gonna suck, but like I said I already have the arb and super 30. Its just a little experiment, my turning radius will be measured in football fields, Ill just have to work on my 12 point turns. Or I can always twin stick it.

Soooo if you already bought the ARB and axle kit, why go through this little experiment. Just install the locker and axles and run it.

because I like to find things out for myself. I can get a bunch of information on a forum and people who tell me things but untill I do things myself and try them on the trail I normally just consider it to just be suggestions of what could happen. My piece of mind with my vehicle is worth alot to me. Id rather try it now that I have a safety net of an arb and upgraded axle if it fails. Lol weres ur sense of adventure.

What transfer case does it have that would allow you to twin stick it? Even if you did "twin stick it" in 2wd you still won't be able to turn real good with the front being welded.

With the front locked on my rubi I can hardly turn, it would suck to have it locked 24/7. imo
