TJ Rear Winch Bumper?

Does anyone know if there is a company that is making rear winch bumpers for TJ's? I did a search and came up with nothing.

same

receiver mount winch would be your best bet, or custom made. There isnt enough demand for a company to mass produce such a bumper.

That bumper looks awesome. I'd buy one if they start producing them.

Thats similar to what I'm looking for. Thanks for the link. IMHO that thing is HUGE and would get bashed really fast on my rig. Trying to find something a little more streamline with the tub, but still providing protection, maintain a decent departure angle, and house a winch, safer from the elements. But now after saying this, it sounds like its going to be a custom bumper...

Wish I had a pic, but unfortunately not!

I wheeled with a guy that had notched his rear frame member, and rear bumper. He welded a roller fairlead on the bumper, removed his tank, and made a custom cross member that mounted a warn xd9000i. It was all tucked away beneath the rear of the tub, and he just used a 15gal aluminum tank from jeggs. I have always wanted to do the same thing, but it will have to wait on funding, and another daily driver.

Ive been thinking about this as it would have been really useful in the snow we had recently. It would be a lot easier to stuff a 4k winch back there vs an 8k and just use a snatch block if you need 8k of pulling, Plus its lighter.

I think the super winch UTV4000 would fit in a custom rear bumper with out extending any further than my copy of Ground Pounder rear bumper.

I read some of the discussion in the link to that bumper.

He gives dimensions....and they are only a couple of inches bigger than this type bumper and only a couple of inches longer than this.....etc. The problem, IMHO, is that he is using a couple of worst case configurations as the baseline against what he is comparing...and so has convinced himself that it isn't that bad. He states it is only two inches wider than another 5" bumper they measured. Heck, my bumper is only 2" wide to start with. I'm sure it is a nice bumper and all, but I wouldn't want that thing hanging down off my TJ. Packing that thing full of junk, having all that weight that far behind the rear axle, not me....to each his own.
