Switch blanks - gettin 'em out

What's the best way y'all have found to get the switch blanks out of the center console on your TJs? I ordered some KC Daylighters for my windshield brackets and want to put the switch there next to the stock fog lamp switch.

Any ideas?

once you get the console surround off, there are 4 screws to take out. Disconnect the two cigarette lighter outlest and any other swithes There are two tabs you need to depress, on on top, one on bottom of the blanks. After pressing them down, the blank should pop right out the back. If not, use some small pliers to give em a little tug. This is how it worked on my 05, probably similar if not the same as yours

Just remember they push out the back dont try to push it out the front. I broke the cluster and had to pay 32 bucks at the dealer.

there are two screws up on top (under the trim panel on top of that dash that goes the full length of the dash) Take a flat head screwdriver and gently pry that piece upwards, theres a few clips holding it in. Take the two screws out and take the flathead and pry out the center piece just like you did with the top. I believe there might only be 2 clips holding that one in, though maybe 4. Just be gentle with it and you wont have any problems.

Once you remove the two screws in front of the catch-all tray, you should be able to just pull GENTLY, and the whole thing will come right off.... just be patient...

Don't forget about the screw behind the ash tray.
