Smittybilt tube fenders for rear

I am looking into putting the rear tube fenders on my TJ but not interested in adding the corner guards. Is it possible to mount the fenders to the body without the use of the corner guards or is there something special about the mounting that requires you to use the corner guards?

you will have some trouble welding 3/16 plate to that thin sheet metal that is your tub

build it, wheel it, break it, repeat

I have the corner guards with the tube fender, Yes I think you could just bolt them up using the stock bolts that hold the stock flare on.

I know that when I ran stock flares, they "flexed". The tube ones won't. I think you will end up with interesting wrinkles as a result.

Unless your rig NEVER rubs those rear tubes............................................. ................the TNT's mounted to 3/16 STEEL hold up fine, but I would rather a flexible flare mounted on the stock sheetmetal.
