Skyjacker shock bushing failure

I recently installed my 2" BB lift on my 06 TJ & was running the stock shocks & decided to upgrade to the Skyjacker Hydro 7000's while the rebate deal was going on.
Exactly a week after the install, the upper rear polyurethane bushing wore in two..........no rough driving, no off roading, just back & forth to work.
I installed the original bushings using the WD 40 & bench vise method & didn't tear anything or have to overly force things together. The bushings skyjacker gave me seemed a bit soft when I put them in, but I didn't think they were THAT soft.
Thank goodness for the old stock shocks..........& the cordless sawzall.........I now have a black OE rubber bushing in my RR skyjacker & I'm back on the road.

Anybody else have skyjackers with trouble with bad bushings ??

Just had the same problem. But, I did have to take the bushings out as I got the top and bottom reversed. I called Skyjacker though and they sent me two new ones. I had a metal on metal clanking when I would hit a bump, couldnt figure it out at first.

Never buy from Skyjacker again!

Same stuff here. 2" BB lift and 100 miles the front upper isolators blew out. 200 miles later and the front lowers are gone.

Why they didn't recall these from all their distributors is absurd... Now I have to take the shocks apart, push out the bushings, push in the new bushings, and reinstall the shocks. Thanks Skyjacker!!!

I guess I'll join the club...just got back from a trip this weekend and couldn;t figure out what the horrid clanking sound was from the front end. Took a hard look and guess what? No bushings. I'll be calling Skyjacker today to get some more.

ive had everything replaced and theyve been holding up good now for at least a month. now the new ones they sent are DARK RED and they are ok. IF you have LIGHT RED/ORANGE they are bad they will fail, skyjacker admitted it. so if they are they lighter color do not put them on.

I recently (last week) installed a 2" Rubicon Express BB wth the twin tube shocks, and my shock bushings failed this last weekend. Called up RE and they are sending me a complete bushing kit. They mentioned that Skyjacker and RE both used the same bushing manufacturer, Daystar. So this problem is obviously effecting more then Skyjacker shocks. Big thumbs up to Rubicon Express for making this right

Skyjacker Bushing

Does anyone know the exact size of these skylacker bushings? i.e. the diameter?
One of Mine cracked and I need a replacement. I can't wait 2 weeks for Quadratec to ship a replacement to Canada. A local parts place has them but I was not sure of the bushing size when I spoke to them on the phone.
Thanks
