Shock recommendations ????

New to jeeps and have a regular ole TJ- bone stock. No intentions on any suspensions mods so I am looking for a good quality replacement. Ride is most important

Thanks fellas

If you go with the Rancho RS5000X shocks (or any shocks), order them from Kolak on here. He has some great prices. I just ordered a set from him.

p.s. I'll be giving my honest review when I install them and test them out.
Kolak likes this.

I’m pleased with my rancho 5000x ones. Great shock for the price. Not the same as the 5000 series, definitely 5000x.

I bought those for my first TJ. I wasn't sure they still made them.

Do you recall how the ride felt?

They were soft for street use and rode good. If you get Skyjacker shocks, DO NOT get the NITRO ones. They are super harsh.
p.s. If you wait a week, I'll give an honest opinion on the Rancho rs5000x shocks. Opinions vary too much for me, so I had to order a set for myself to see.

I will wait as I am not in a rush-- would rather wait than make a $250 mistake

Thanks Boog

Great

My jeep is a 95% street / pavement pounder so thats why I want the softer ride

I will deal with the O.R. issues if they ever pop up

I can give you an opinion after this weekend as well. Per other recommendations on here, I ordered a set of RS5000Xs.

I'm guessing you have to use your old bar pins on the front shocks too.

Looking forward to some feedback myself, I have an 02 TJ that's mostly a trail rider. I've been looking at the rancho shocks too. Just looking for a smoother ride while offroading. Thanks for testing them for us.
