Story:
Bought the Jeep in 05' bone stock with 34k on it. Been building and wheeling ever since. Rolled it before I paid it off. Not a mechanic or fabricator by trade, but I do all my own work and am still learning as I go. Ive won Sept the last 2 years. Id like to have the final Sept before this contest is gone. Been following it for years. It will be missed.

Big changes on the way this winter. Making the jump to tons. Currently building front and rear 14 bolts, 14" air shocks, stretching to 108", Dove tail, and 39" red labels . I have most of the parts already and axles are coming together fast. Full write ups on my build thread.

Story:
My parents bought this Jeep new on Easter weekend of '98 and both drove it for a while. Then my sister drove it up through college, and then I finally got it in the Summer of 2012 when I left for college. Up until that point it was stock. It was my DD and I began modding it to make it look cool. Now it is no longer my DD and I've been able to make some worthy upgrades to help take me where I want to go.

I set it up so the top box locks with a Tuffy matched lock to my glove box and rear drawer. Story (optional): I bought the Jeep new in 2005, it’s a Rubicon Unlimited Sahara Edition with the 6 speed trans and I have put over 180,000 miles on it. I found out its number 603 of 1000 limited edition Jeeps released for the movie Sahara, that didn't stop me from modifying it but it makes it one of only 1000 Jeeps that they ever made with the Rubicon and Sahara packages together and it is an Unlimited too so it was fully loaded. It's still my daily driver. My wife named her Betsy and we love taking the boys (7 and 9 years old) out in her for off-roading or even just going for a top down, doors off ride around town or ice cream run. My mods will never be done, future additions I am hoping to add soon are PSC steering assist, Cage upgrades, outboarding the shocks, maybe 1-ton axles (I’ve got a 78 Ford with HP D60 front…), ...I can just keep listing here! The Jeep works really well and looks great, and best of all there is room for me to bring my whole family out wheeling or just top-down driving on a nice day. I have done all the work myself except the regear and try to select the best parts I can afford (almost... hahahaha) so that I can do each upgrade just once. I’m building a 69 Jeepster Commando for the wife now so the tons may go to this soon to move these axles to that build.
Pictures: Enjoy and thanks for your consideration!

I have been wheelin for nearly 40 years. In the first several decades it was mainly mud (hence my user name) as that is all my local terrain offered. When I moved to a different area I discovered the joy of wheelin on rocks and in technical trails. No more mud – AMEN. I sure am sick of washing it off and repairing the long term damage it causes. I have been doing a mod here and a mod there over the years. When I rolled it wheeling it gave me a great opportunity to do the half top transformation and other upgrades. Obviously it's not over yet as a Jeeper's mods are never done. More importantly I am putting in a LS-III - 4L80e combo as you read this so watch for that. Almost done! Man, I can’t wait to fire it up and burn the tires. Good buy 285’s.

Story behind it
Always wanted a Jeep, driving my cousins YJ made it worse. Looked for close to 4 years to find the exact one I wanted, black, 05 or 06, had to be a Rubi, had to have black interior, low miles, basically stock, fairly clean and not the price of a small house. Now that I have it just enjoying it as a daily for a few years and doing small things to it as I save some money little by little making it what works best for my use. Been a great hunting/fishing rig so far.

Story:
I received this Jeep as my first vehicle when I was 15 years old. It has been my hobby/obsession ever since. I have spent countless hours reading and researching future plans for it, always trying to find something to tinker with. I recently finished up my biggest upgrade by swapping in an Explorer 8.8 into the rear. Definitely my most costly and most worthwhile upgrade as I did everything myself, including the regear and welding. Now it’s on to the suspension. I have 13” Fox Factory 2.0’s sitting on the shelf waiting to go on. Savvy Mid Arm kit is on its way as well. The goal is to run the 33”s for a while and use 4” Currie springs and Fox shocks for 13” travel up front and hopefully 14” in the rear. Then get the shocks tuned at Fullstack Motorsports so I can go fast in the dunes and on the trails. Eventually it will step up to 35”s most likely with highlines and maybe a Savvy TT somewhere in there as well. Planning on making the trip to KOH this year as well, should be awesome.
