Reposition Window Crank?

I need to reposition the angle of the window crank on my TJ to stop the knob from jabbing my knee. Does removing the crank take a special tool? I hate to just start prying on it. I'm sure it's probably very simple, but...

Thanks!

I haven't looked at my TJ but most car window handles are held on by a little c type pin that requires a special flat tool. Any good parts store will have it.

I was planning on looking at that this weekend, I've been spending the past week or so in my new TJ trying to force myself to keep my left leg away from the door. At about 6' 2" I can't help but "bow" my legs out a bit, anybody here over 6 foot has to be all too familiar with driving with the sides of your feet!

The "special tool" in question is a face cloth. Look behind the handle and find the side of the c-clip where the ends are and pull the cloth back and forth across the ends of the clips... Keep an eye on the clip cause when it pops off it has a bit of momentum behind it!!

Thanks folks! I knew it was probably pretty simple, but it wasn't obvious to me. (I guess we know what that means...)

Yup.....NOOB...
Just kidding... IT is a simple thing to do . But If you dont know how you could break your handle and that would suck..
Make sure you check it with the window up and down..
IT might hit your leg when down ..

Good luck..

what youre looking for is a "window crank removal tool" you can pick up a cheapie for about 5 bucks.
like another reply stated, be careful of the " Jesus" clip. it will pop out and you will never find it if you arent careful when you remove it. when i was still installing mobile electronics i kept a box of them in my tool box.
also, in place of the correct tool you can use a wash/dish cloth (as another reply stated) or (my fav) a bra. just slide the elastic part between the cups under the handle (with handle pointed down) then saw back and forth while pulling up on the cups. catch the clip and youre golden.
