RCV axle shafts - no boots

I just purchased a 2004 Rubicon that has RCV axle shafts but the boots are missing. Iím picking up the Jeep later this week and need to know if there will be any issues driving it a couple hundred miles to get it home?

Did the PO give a reason why they donít have the boots installed? They keep the grease in and junk out.

PO sold to a dealer, so Iím unable to get any details. No matter though, I plan to correct any issues. Just need to know if I can run down an interstate for a few hours without a boot.

I personally wouldn't. They are there for a reason.

Maybe call RCV and get their thoughts?

I ended up giving RCV a call. They of course do not recommend driving without the orange boots but did say that a few hours should be fine. Iím ordering replacement boots and will be installing when I get the Jeep back in my garage.
