Which Rancho shocks for 2" TJ lift?

Hi everyone,

Super quick question. I'm going the 2" route on my TJ and will be ordering pro comp coil springs. I want to run the Rancho 5000x shocks, but I'm not quite sure which ones to order. I would just order the ones that say they're for a 2" lift, but I've read that those end up being longer than needed. For anyone that has run 2" coils and rancho shocks, which part number of shocks were you running? I did check all of the jeep forums, but it's got me debating between sizes.

Thanks for any help.
I hope to order it tonight.

pull your springs out, remove the shocks, disconnect the sway bar, remove the rubber bump stop pad.
use a floor jack, push it to full bump on one side, full droop on the other.
adjust your bump stops so everything clears at full bump.
while it is at full bump, measure from shock mount to shock mount.
find the longest shock that its collapsed length will fit at full bump.

i get that is not what u wanna hear though.
buying a 2" lift shock is a guessing game without measuring properly.
the rancho 5000x is a solid choice in shock.
quite a few here really like them.
what ever u do, do not buy pro comp shocks!

Go for the 0-2" model of the RS5000x. They run tall so don't even consider the next size up.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

Kolak on here can hook you up with some good prices on the shocks. I bought some from him for my XJ.

Are those stock travel? The OP may need to worry about topping out because I'm not sure if Pro Comp's 2" springs are progressive.

Rancho shocks run long. The next size up would be for a 2.5" lift and would probably work for a 3.5" lift.

Ordered them a few weeks ago, but the order never arrived and Amazon finally told me to cancel the order for a refund. The last ones I ordered were listed for 0-2" of lift, but it didn't have the actual part number in the listing. So, I found them somewhere else but I need to order them by part number. So, just to clarify, are the 0-2" lift shocks the RS55128 RS55240 combo? Thanks again.

You should have ordered them from Kolak. You wouldn't have had those problems.
