Power locks on a 2005 TJ

I am thinking about installing power locks and a remote start in my TJ but I don't know a good location to install the actuators in the doors any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have done this with my alarm system in my jeep. When you install the solenoids, it will be pretty obvious where they have to go to operate the locking mecahanism rods in the door. The solenoid will mount inside the door metal just a bit but it won't interfere with the window or window frame when it comes down. You have to play with the angle just a bit depending on the actuators stroke to lock and unlock the door.

I put power locks in my doors and tailgate with my alarm. Don't know how I ever lived without them!

You can either use some molex fittings (try radio shack) or I put in some Jamb-tac contacts, which were a pain to do but well worth it.

A 2005 vehicle without power locks and windows?!?! Jeep kept themselves in the dark ages and we suffer from the inconvenience. What would be the big deal about having to disconnect two more plugs from the doors when a lot of drivers already did the same when removing their hard top? Every time I have to lean over to roll up or down the passenger window I curse Jeep engineers.

If someone wants in your Jeep they will get in no matter what. They probably wont be familiar with the top and will just slash it with a knife. Leave your doors unlocked and keep valuables out of your Jeep.

exactly, my dad had his jeep sitting outside, he had the doors unlocked but the side they tried to get into was hard to open. so they just slashed a brand new top, If someone wants your jeep do you honestly think locking your door will stop them?? Like seriosuly, use your head before posting

i totally agree i would hate to have to unplug wires before taking the doors off p/w&p/l = more stuff to break i love them on my expedition but i dont think they belong on a jeep atleast not mine anyway
